For anyone trying to recreate this technique: you can fit NVIDIA's StyleGAN(2) model with HD outputs (16x9) on a relatively small GPU by using reversible blocks. Most memory goes towards saving activations during the training process both in the discriminator and generator as well as the perceptual loss. Using the pre-trained weights of NVIDIA on the FFHQ dataset can also save massive amounts of computing power (but you'll probably have to train from scratch for non-square images)!
