I don't even know if upgrading sunflower wallnut is even worth it. It gives sun it high speed and does it constantly, not only when zombie eats it, meanwhile upgraded sunflower wallnut even though syops constantly giving sun - makes it up by how much sun he generates when someone eats him.

The answer is yes, its worth it. The sun emperor in this mode is so tanky that if u let the zombies eat it constantly, you get a fertilizer before its dead. So sun emperor can definitely out-produce sunnut as long as you constantly keep it being eaten.
