You need to torque injectors and replace the o rings on the hp rail.

Love you videos I have learned and repaired a lot with your videos but I have 2009 Maxforce DT466 that only runs when I prime the fuel filter housing and then dies out but if I run in high idle it stays running I don’t want to just throw parts at it any help will be great thank you

Hey there city tech. Sounds like you might have a weak supply pump. Check your fuel pressure.

Ok great I will definitely look into that on Monday now that fuel supply pump is that located on the high pressure pump? We don’t have fuel pressure gauges but I do have the Autel with the Maxforce program can I see pressure of the fuel supply pump their?

Yes. It will pop up on the screen. And yes. Pump is bolted on HPOP. 3 8mm bolts.

Hey Joe, when an injectors fails, do you get check engine light indicating which Injector is failing?

J&R Not on the message board. You can run a self diagnostics or you can use a temperature gun. The injector that’s malfunctioning will be colder at exhaust port.

J&R A scam will tell you which injector. The only thing is that 1 bad injector will sometimes throw a code for another injector. I like using temp gun just to make sure.

Gabriel Herrera Perez Buenos dias Gabriel. Parese ser que su problema son los seyos de el reil de presion. Si fuera injector. Fayara frio tambien. High pressure oil rail seals.

Buenos dias Joe, tengo un 2014 maxxforce n13 cuando esta frio a los 10 minutos de que me arranco en carretera se empieza a ahogar pierde fuerza y hecha humo negro, me paro suve la temperatura arriba de 170 y se le quita la faya, pero ha pasado q si paso por un bache de carretera, brinca el camion y se quita la falla, que podria ser?

Did you torque the Injectors hold down bolt and oil rail?

Hey there John. There is a chart on torque specs but I didn’t use a torque wrench. I tightened them by feel.

Thank you for replying. I just did the same job as you, on a 2015 international 4300 durastar Maxxforce 13. I torque major companies down to specs, just to cover my ass, because i don't like re-doing jobs.

Hi Joe my brother has a 2011 dt466 and he's changed all of those seals, hp pump ,icp valve, ipr valve , no check engine but still no power going up hills no smoke either what do think could be going on?

Hey Myke. That pressure u mention is ur high pressure oil brother. Fuel pressure runs between 50 to 100 psi depending on year manufactured. 1500 sounds like ICP pressure.

Buen dia Joe's, tengo un 2010 maxxforce dt, town truck y a veces de la nada deja de accelerar o a veces la enciende x las mañanas y igual no accelera hasta que la apago y la desconecto a veces varias veces del pedal de acceleracion y ya trabaja normal ya le cambie el pedal tres veces pero sigue haciendo lo mismo, que crees que sea o por donde puedo comenzar xq ni el dealer sabe

Hey Tim. Yes. Injectors 4 and 5 had failed. Unit wouldn’t go above 15mph.

Puede ser la pompa de diesel mechanica o algun injector. La pompa esta en la bomba de precion de aseite

Hey there Steve. They are especially on school buses. They almost never go above 45. Unit never goes into regen mode.
