By far and hands down the best race I have ever raced. The distance, difficulty, planning, organization and most of all the heritage of this event is unmatched. I feel so grateful to have been able to compete in this. Thank you for explaining some of your strategy to keep motivated and your mindfulness.

Such Great Intel for us weekend warriors that only race once a Year and its the best race of the Year. Had the same thing happen to me... Saw mile 75 marker and could not believe we still had 17 miles to go and how my body was gona hold up, started the breath work, focused on each corner and rock... worked like a charm and finished! I agree 100% with everything you said and will come back 2025 with a better mindset and NUTRITION. Thanks Max and congrats on the W.

This race report is awesome, so much great insight! Totally with you on the whole drinking a big gulp of water, waking up, stepping outside to stargaze, and, of course, the classic pee moment. 😂

“Mixing gas and Haulin Ass” “Only go fast when you can see where you’re going!” These need to be added to Max Merch!

What an amazing rider! I love how you talked about when your mind can drift, "I think about food, chicks, money"...brings his mind back, wins the race, legend!!!

At 41:45 you hint that you did not drink much from your Camelbak, instead you were hydrating between tests. Can you elaborate some more on the benefits of splashing water vs sipping it including on effects on performance, need to pee, bloating, etc? Thanks!

It blows me away you even have to mention it, but I’ve asked people many times the same thing. How the hell did you ride five or 10 miles down a road or trail the wrong way, and never question not seeing a course marker. But seems to happen every race. On Colton’s question, I don’t know Colton, but I’m gonna guess his question is how I would’ve asked it just for fun and be a smart ass. Now I’m looking forward to seeing his response to your cross jump question. Should be fun. 😂

Haha yes bro people are wild! It takes experience to understand course markings I suppose. Haha yep totally about the Colton comment. He’s having fun, I’m having fun, it’s all good.
