A lot of credit has to go to Gaethje as well. He is never in a boring fight, we'll miss him when he decides to retire. He was never gonna back down from Holloway's challenge in the last few secs, and because of that we got a legendary moment. Win or lose Gaethje has given us some awesome memories. At 35, I fear that this KO may end his career. We've seen many guys never be the same again after they get flatlined like this. That's why this feels bittersweet, even though he took a good amount of damage in that fight and was rocked a couple of times, he was still only 1 second away from finishing that fight without getting a damn concussion and it ended up happening anyway.

I am not here to say this is the “greatest moment in fighting history” (that notably is silly), or what have you; but I have seen many excellent moments like this in combat sports (sadly due to father time), BUT there is nothing in comparison (by a long shot) to any ufc/mma moment (again, ever) in terms of true fighting, the actual point down to the ground, lets do it, and the excitement that us the watcher *actually* felt and of course the innate pure chill that rushed through me when justin folded on the 0:00 mark of the clock has not happened in quite some time This was similar (in fact, in recent times THE most similar) of round 9, fight one, Mickey Ward v Arturo gatti Weird to compare the two, while one was an entire round of what we witnessed Saturday in a seconds , but still, this moment alone has those vibes which are soooo rarely replicated ufc 300 effing nailed it …….. AND I STILL WANT TO KNOW WHO POATAN WAS LOOKING AT WHEN HE WAS DOING THE “see check him out” TYPE OF EMOTE TO - You should speak about that !!!
