Mighty Mouse's motto is to avoid going into the adversary's gameplan, to switch it up and take the fight where the other guy isn't a specialist. Jamahal really said 'nah I'd win' and it went exactly as it did with Strickland when he was saying the same. Kinda highlights how crazy good Adesanya is to be right there on Poatan's level, being on the lead in the first MMA match and knocking him out in the second (though Alex was gonna eat him up if not for falling into that trap).
@AirLancer5 ай бұрын
@@lincolncarvalho8739 It definitely taught him to be more cautious and keep his guard up (if not literally, then mentally) even when he has his opponent hurt. You could see it in his fight vs Jan. Amazing card, arguably the best event in UFC history…great win for Weili, a tough and fun defense..Holloway easily earned that bonus for an instant classic, amazing performance, and Gaethje should consider retirement but he still had a lot of heart… Charles was not robbed at all, Arman clearly won rounds 2 and 3 and arguably 1, it was a great performance by him and Charles will comeback maybe against Gaethje in a rematch…Nickal got the win but not impressively imo… Jiri had a great win, tough early and Rakic was looking good but he got caught and Jiri is in a great position now…Sterling won but unimpressive to me…great wins for Lopez, Money, and Figueiredo…

Moving up a weight class, taking on an animal like Gaethje, eating all those leg kicks, beating Gaethje so easily, rocking him numerous times when he was supposed to be the weak puncher, pointing to the canvas to stand and bang with the bigger Gaethje, putting his win on the line for the fans, and sleeping Gaethje face first into the canvas, in UFC 300, with a second to go on the clock. For the BMF belt. Unprecedented achievement. I’m still in shock and awe. Made the ultimate highlight out of The Human Highlight 🤯👏🏼 *Blessed Man Forever*

I think Jiri has some kind of spiritual or mental resolve/composure that gives him the ability to take shots. It's like he's always ready for the shot. Arman deserves more credit for his performance, he's a beast. I know we all love Charles, but yeah... Holloway looked healthier at 155 this time around compared to his fight against Dustin and he must have done a Hawaiian ritual beforehand because he was in the zone for this one.

I saw an interview King Mo gave... basically, if you don't finish Jiri, Jiri aint finished. (Unless the "Buddy" man is around to protect you from the resurrection.) I don't think it was as bad as Guru has stated. He gets those hits, not wobbled once, focus and aggression intact, not deterred. He accepts that you get hit if you seek the KO. So it's more than just toughness, it is a mindset... and his head movement, he avoided the shots that could have finished him. And he got sharper as the fight went on. He admitted I think at his presser that he knew he had to hasten the end, the leg kicks were a problem. When you fight someone who is relentless and accurate with calf kicks... there is an element of not slowing down to check them, because that is letting the kicker control the fight. That so many times they break a toe, or a part of their foot... Be curious, though, if taking so many effects the ability to keep taking them down the line, as in, other fights. Nerve damage? He's yet to fight Jan. But Rakic has game and hopefully they keep the LHW busy. Alex seems determined to rip through the division so he can go do his hype fights... which he earns by seeing off his division.
@SonsOfDeForest5 ай бұрын
nah you can condition your legs to take damage, thats why the thai's are so indestructible.
@GuerillaCatty735 ай бұрын
@@SonsOfDeForest The peroneal nerve is what is often targetted with the calf kicks. On the side, at the knee, down. It has no protection, apparently fat or muscle can't be built. That's why the damage is numbness, tripping over your own foot. Not all low kicks are targetting it. So if it gets a bashing, fight after fight... does it sustain damage? The muay thai idea is toughening the actual shin bone? And is that to tolerate being kicked or the ability to use the shin bone as a weapon? They're all getting foot fractures and broken toes from the foot being the weapon.

I feel so sorry for the pure ufc only fans that actually deluded themselves into thinking hill is/was even close to the level of a striker alex is and was ever going to comr cloee in this match. Theres real levels to striking. He didnt even connect a full fist but his technique the way his body whips through is as legit as it gets. He literally exposes a good chunk of ufc striking quality and how they strike.

In mma it makes a difference. You could use the same logic with adesanya vs Strickland where adesanya has far better accolades in kickboxing and the ufc in general, but he still lost. Hell one of the guys who actually beat (might have had a close fight instead) pereira and fought izzy in glory lost not even that long ago in dana white's contender series.
