Top 10 all time favorite games for me. It was like a really well written movie. Not a lot of games had me invested in the story like this one had, for the short while. I felt really bad for Max and was rooting for him to finally find something worth living for but, like in all noir dramas, there is no real happy ending. And the physics were awesome, nothing like blasting lowlifes into the atmosphere with dual macs.

I love all 3 games, but I wish 2 was longer. Thankfully, the game has a thriving modding community to make up for that shortfall and is still a blast to play; even till this day.

I got a physical copy of this game at a local thrift store, and it refused to run on my PC. After spending way too goddamn long trying to figure out why that is, it turns out that it was because of the copyright protection on the disc. I had to download the no CD crack just to get it to work on my PC It was fun after I did get it working though

i finished all 3 games multiple times, even the hardest difficulties. and i RARELY used the bullet-time lol. i just love the dodge-shoot mechanic sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much. Also, hot tip, there is a first person mod for max payne 2 and it's amazing. Definitely my fav way of playing the game.

I loved Max Payne 2, through the story didn't engage me as much like the first one. Otherwise, it's another excellent shooter with improved gameplay and classic graphics.

Yes the OG max was straight and to the point, 2 was worth a second playthrough to get all the plot points and it builds on the gameplay of the first.

Why do i even love this game series so much ? I played each game in the series more than any shooter of any franchises (and i played a lot of COD games until MW2), and Max Payne 3 is the one i played the most, on all difficulties on PS3. it's just too gratifying and cathartic, despite it being the most grim installment in the series.

You should definitely review the "Payne Evolution" mod next! It does its best to modernise graphics and gameplay. Whilst it doesn't quite succeed at graphics due to the engine's lack of bumpmapping (a reason "Half-Life 2" looked better despite being released near the same time), the gameplay is definitely on par with that in "Max Payne 3". Of course I'd love hearing your own assessment. ;-)

I still prefer the first game for it's story and more tactical feeling gameplay. In MP1 bullet time felt more like a tool and every firefight required a lot of thought. MP2 feels more run n gun and while not thoughtless it requires a lot less effort. It's still great but I'll always prefer the original.

i dont think thats truth. is more fun the max payne 2. if you want to feel tactic which max payne 1 is not. you can playit without using bullet time.

Superb visuals, story, voice acting, gameplay, feel, pacing, sound design, physics and difficulty. My only problems with the game: Due to the mixing, Sam's voice sounds different in each of the games, even though it's the same voice actor. The same problem The Witcher trilogy has. The game is vastly shorter than 1 or 3. Level design for the vast majority of it feels like a downgrade compared to MP1. It's not bad design, but it lacks the variety MP1 had. Given how MP1 ends, în regards to Mona and the fact MP2 begins in media rez, the whole story for a 1st playthrough is needlessly confusing. Who is Mona? When? Her sister? What? I still have no idea what the purpose of the slow motion spin is. I know Max is reloading, but why have that kind of pirouette? Seems totally random.

mona has a sister,her sister was killed by punchinellos(you can see it in the first game) mona start to kill everyone for it and "help" you. In the end of the game she got shot to the head,but survives and in the second game you got shot to the head as well,so there is some symbolism to it

And then i was dissapointed. I think max payne 3 was a good game but is not a max payne game... it doesnt have the personality of the first two games
