Hi Max, Sorry to hear you have COVID 19. A good friend of mind who lives near Nottingham in the UK just tested positive for COVID 19 yesterday. Get well soon. Back on subject, A hot knife for cutting plastic like the one sold on Amazon by WINONS, is perfect if you want to cut out those doors to make that aircraft a gear down model. Cheers, Rich S.

A challenge! Will be well worth the effort given the subject matter

That's the kind of model where you get out the Dremel drill with some burr bits to grind away the unwanted plastic.

Max, I'm ready for my own next kit, the snap together Revell 2017 Ford GT. I need to decompress following my build of the Timberline Wood Livery Stable. This kit is really a collection of wooden sticks, two plastic windows, card, and acetate for the glass. I totally get where your coming from and salute your efforts.

That’s the kind of kit you just take it a bit at a time while doing other projects, I’m lazy and always take the easy route. Take care and get well soon Max, model on

We all know you are having fun. Sometimes you need a bit of a challenged. One can not always build a Tamiya "Shake and Make". Take care and get well soon.

Glad to see you're back at the bench! Certainly a challenging model. Have you thought how you will paint it? The box art makes a point of variation in the external appearance. Hope you're feeling better. Model on!

That's the kind of kit that sets my teeth on edge. A poorly engineered kit with PE brass! I generally like to build aircraft gear-up, so that takes away much potential complexity and trouble. I also tend to omit PE brass if it won't be seen. I'm working on a 1/350 Type IX U-boot now that has some PE for gun decks and railings. I often have trouble getting those hair-fine PE railings to look proper, but it looks silly without them. CA glue can get messy and infuriating to work with too. You sound like you're getting better, throwing off the Wu-flu. Keep hydrated and take it easy. 😊

Special Hobby motto: “We trim the vacuform parts so you don’t have to!” Generally good topics, good detail, and multi-media add-ins. But SH must have lost their shipment of alignment pins! I do wonder if SH followed the vac to injected that some manufacturers do, using a vac kit as the basis for molds… at least on their early releases

Sounds like you're feeling better; hope you have a speedy recovery. I didn't know anyone made a kit of the Heinkel He-178. Very unusual for a jet to be a tail-dragger, especially since Heinkel's later jet, the He-162, had a tricycle landing gear. It's also interesting that the V stood for version here, since V was the Luftwaffe designation for prototype.

Glad to see you are “modeling on.” Please take care of yourself. The “19” is no fun. My wife and I had it for 2 lost weeks in Feb with lingering effects for some weeks. All courtesy of our local ER, were I went for a few hours for X-Rays following a fall. Looking forward to seeing the model when done. I didn’t even know such a plane existed.

Yes, hospitals are full of sick people. Same happened to me and the wife. Even double vaxed picked it up. Lucky only lasted a week and was like a bad cold.

Great quarantine conversation and project but wish it was a little easier for you. In 1973 when I had the mumps I built a Lindberg Avenger, not great detail but any easy build. Get well soon.

This is the type of model I paint the inside of the canopy black, wheels up and put it on a stand. Make sure you makes some pins for the horizontal stabilizers.

I watched this again, it does look like a challenge, funny how some of these Small Limited run kits aren’t molded well…. BUT, with some hard work, they turn out great… MAX, I have all kinds of STICKS in the YARD…. Some PEOPLE are STICKS in the Mud… I put my models on a STAND …….. Dear Max, This model seems slightly contradictory in that the crude parts' fit are at odds with the amount of finesse provided by the level of cockpit detail. Frank.
