Wow! So happy you were diagnosed at such a young age! I spent 10 years clueless another 5 years going to specialists and because I have cataplexy and saw a drug commercial on symptoms of knee buckling when emotional 3 years ago is what linked me to narcolepsy... FINALLY!

Our daughter was diagnosed at age 11, thankfully only about 6 months after onset (we think). Took almost 3 years to get the meds to a place where the cataplexy is almost non-existent on most days. Presence of narcolepsy allowed us to pinpoint the diagnosis fairly quickly for our child, but she still spent a few years trying not to laugh, not reading, grades slipping. Silent illness for sure.
