That's exactly how did mine and it works perfectly along with the GoldStrike phone mount and I use the USB in the saddle bag to charge my sena and camera batteries. Thanks for your videos

I have a 2020 Tour Airbag. I'd like to have a connection in my right-side glove box. I guess my only choice is to run it from the trunk. Is there another place to access that connection?

You cant take the one out of the left saddlebag. If your bike doesn't have that, Honda sells the accessory for like $35-40. Then run it where you want, or just get a splitter cord on Amazon, and have it in 2 place if you want.

I installed the factory USB power cable in the left bag. However it did not power my phone or have juice to it for some reason. I tried some other options and it did not work. I rerouted my battery tender charger into the left bag and matched accessories to fit that for quick charging. Thanks again for all your videos and insight to the electronics of this beast

That sounds like a warranty problem for Honda to address. There's pretty much no way to do anything wrong with that cable installation.

I have the airbag model. How long of a Lightning cord should I get to run from the trunk to the bars?

Depends on if you are splitting that one, or just relocating it. I think 6' will do it, but they have 10' as well. I don't recall what we put on this bike, but you can just measure to be sure.

@@Traxxion Bars to the trunk. That way I can choose the location by plugging in the appropriate cord and just leave the other one unplugged.

@@jamesspringate8431 you can only have a splitter cord with one data port. If you plug in a two data port splitter, then the bike will reject it.

May I ask you a super important question about a 2008 goldwing a few weeks ago I felt a strange shift from down shifting from 5th only. It felt stiff going down it's only when I down shift from 5th gear.? I am going to bleed couch and put a New slave cylinder may I ask any advice other then taking it in

Hello Max. I was able to get this to work with CarPlay using your instructions and I now have my phone working from the handle bar. I am also able to charge my iPod or other device from within the shelter cubby. I used a USB Splitter but you must buy a splitter cable that has ONLY 1 Data Port. The other port must be charge only. Honda USB ONLY accepts ONE Data device in order to get CarPlay to work. That port does not accept HUBs as it would appear as multiple devices and then would not know which one to use for CarPlay. I grabbed a cheap Y cable from Amazon that had only one data port and it works perfectly. If I want CarPlay from within the cubby, I just swap the cords/ports in the cubby. Fantastic idea Max, and it does work with the shelter pocket USB provided you split to only get additional power. I did have to split the grommet and lay in the additional lightening cable but it all works and looks great. Hope that helps! NOT a product endorsement!!!!!
