I have the Su-57 and this F-22 maneuvers side by side on my screen, playing each for the similar maneuvers (different flight show maneuvers... So not directly comparable) and still the F-22 looks janky... It is little like a americans placing a V8 to the small car and it doesn't anymore really obey the controls but flies more like a on rails. Plenty of power for the size, but not fluid and lose the energy when you would need it, so it is required to be generated back by easing the maneuvers to get going. Like the take-off, it was tail heavy to get off, requiring to raise front wheel for long period to get it off the ground. And then required to fly long at straight to get speed and then do the 80 degree raise upwards, only to be slow to react negative pitch command (while did it nicely). In the Su-57 the maneuvers are controlled, smooth and it is like watching a ballet. I still consider the Su-27 airshow in Paris 1989 as best there is. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mZDPq52MoLugY7c Demonstrating under 13 seconds 360 degree sustained turn and performing verticals straight from slow speeds and then after that the cobras and all. There is no need to acquire speed, or try to make over controlled looking jinks that is like there isn't full authority like with F-22 has the case. Oh, and the cobra maneuver is not about raising a nose. It is about dropping the tail. And altitude shouldn't raise while performing it, but maintain the same altitude when entering and exiting it. This is nicely demonstrated in the some other videos where it really is "I hit the brakes and he fly by", by having in a formation flight the lead pull cobra, exit it and now he is flying 500 meters behind back at the same speed. There is no speed to save the passing fighter as the Su-27 already has the lock on the fighter front. F-22 is truly amazing, but in western parameters.

For a guy that went to high school in the 80's, that would be like pulling into the high school parking lot in a black T-top Firebird TransAm, some snug 501s, aviator sunglasses and a fresh ass mullet that stops cheerleading practice cold and acting like you didn't even notice.
@alexandervolte824019 күн бұрын
ofc you are biased towards US aircrafts. but the SU57 got developped to humilate the Raptor. And the F35 is a garage queen ) Greetings from german boarding crew )
@rylian2118 күн бұрын
You mean all 3 of the functional 57s? And no, they don't. Why don't you ask the Iranian air defense how effective the F-35 is?
@affilistuff764816 күн бұрын
There was an interview from 5 years ago with the T-50/SU-57 pilot who said back than that F22 pilots claim all the time they can do the same stuff, but he never saw them doing it. Probably because it's 2D thrust vectoring, not 3D and it's a higher risk maneuver in a F22?
@brianmola7117 күн бұрын
Incorrect, they’re not allowed to show off what the F-22 can do. They don’t do what they claim it can do because it’s not allowed to and for a good reason.

My vote is for SU 57 as a Pakistani neutral viewer... both jets are orgasimically beautiful but the things that SU-57 does... it's literally jaw dropping

@ wow so nice to hear from you. Thank you for your service. I can’t thank you enough for flying those incredible bad A$$, F15s fighters and protecting us. The amount of training, stress, quick thinking. Well so much is required it is unbelievable. I am happy they keep F15s and upgrade them, 2 new engines, what they can carry is insane. Fast as heck too. Thank you

EE Lightning was famous for its spectacular tail-stand take off capability and could sustain 50k ft/min climb rate, F22 manages 69k ft/min which is even more impressive but then there are over 60 years of development between them! Both impressive aircraft for their respective times and perhaps something that we will never see again in the digital age where CAC capabilities rule.

You mentioned the ripples in the after burners...... Just some knowledge for you..... Each ripple you see in after burner is a stage of combustion in the engine. I'm not sure how many the f22 has but the f15e had 7 or 8 if I remember right.

The new F15EX demo done overseas was absolutely amazing. That jet was doing things I’ve never seen an F15 do before during an Airshow. It was almost on the level of maneuverability of the F22 but still doing crazy stuff. I love the F22 but I was always on the F23 bandwagon, as I thought I was a more futuristic evil looking plane that was proven to be much faster and more stealthy. I would have really liked to see the 23 in max performance in person.

Lack of dancing control surface deflection is something you see on the F35 called relaxed stability where the plane is basically continuing turns for you, its pretty damn sweet snd a marvel of modern fcs computers…

You said in the SU57 video that you'd take the F22 over the SU57 in a fight. Can you make a video directly comparing and explaining for the laymen amongst us what in your opinion are the differences and advantages of the two aircraft and how that might dictate the final outcome of an encounter specifically between those two aircraft (rather than what they can do to other lesser aircraft)? Thanks!
@Anarchy_42020 күн бұрын
When you do that vid you should do regular F-22 VS Non-RAM SU-57 and then Chrome Super F-22 *with its 16* Billion dollar upgrades- HMD, stealth tanks/pylons, IRST, Link 16, and so on VS SU-57 with RAM ;)👍

The Cobra maneuver is just for show. When you can fire behind you there is no need to bleed off all your speed. And with stealth and long range missiles like the AIM-120D and AIM-260 or even a RIM-174... they are going to by KO long before you get into combat.

If you think the SU-57 is better, you’ve not seen the F-22 in person. I have and watching it literally move at a walking pace down the runway and over the crowd with full thrust vectoring applied is mind blowing. It literally stopped moving forward for a moment, then took off straight up. You can’t understand until you see it. Most impressive thing I’ve ever seen. Not to mention how loud that damn thing is. I competed in DB Drag and it had to be 160+ db. You could feel it in your chest.

Honestly, if you love airshows ,AirVenture at Oshkosh's Experimental Aviation Association is hard to beat. It isn't just a few airplanes flying around. It is a week of air shows, demonstrations, acrobatics and, with declassified aircraft, tours. It is also the world's largest convention of FAA, ATC, and other aviation organizations. The F-22 has been a fairly regular attendee for about a decade, The F-22 arrival, with two Raptors performing touch-and-go maneuvers a few days prior was pretty awesome. Only the lighting made this performance better. Only problem with AirVenture is that the air space restrictions limit larger performances, so the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds can't perform there.
