JB right now is our most consistent player. JT is continually improving on that primary ball handler role. They're slowly finding their strengths within this new system with new guys like Jrue and KP coming in. Really made all his weaknesses completely disappear this year. No more random bad game with woeful turnovers from him this season.

DEFINITELY ‼️ JB can do it all on the court and shows up in the clutch situations. Tatum takes the most shots and misses most of them while taking the most dribbles per possession almost every time it’s ridiculous, surprise nobody talks about that. Celtics has to realize JB is the more poised and efficient player offensively and defensively.
@guiseppejacobs23578 ай бұрын
This is incredibly false. There’s nothing JB can do that tatum can’t do and most of which tatum simply does better. Tatum is their primary ball handler so u bringing up the dribbles makes no sense.
@amitaikessler91317 ай бұрын
This is false actually. This season Brown average 3 more shots attempted per game and had an average of 4 more dibbles per possession. Tatum has given up his role as the main scorer and stepped into more of a ball handler and facilitater and made the rest of the team better but Tatum is still the better player

Good comp actually. What’s interesting is that JB has the luxury of playing alongside Tatum. VC spent his entire prime without another all star offensive player. The floor was always clogged. VC was always the primary focus of the D. We never saw what prime VC could do if someone like post 2000 Tmac was with him.
@nickgilday89468 ай бұрын
ha good comp offensively, but I'd argue he is a better post player than VC ever was and certainly a better defender. VC handles were outrageous and his rim finishing was better (if memory serves me correct)... but I like this comp. No comp is perfect, this is as close as it gets.

@nickgilday89468 ай бұрын
I get why people might say that but you have to understand other teams are choosing derrick. He is making them play but its much different when you just have to beat the one guy in front of you, rarely see double teams, and get light contests when shooting. Derrick and Jrue are the two starters who teams are living with getting looks, and thats not a knock on them, its more just the reality of how talented this team is. On any other team, that's likely not the case.. But you ask any coach they will reluctantly admit that you can't fully guard everyone, and if dwhite is gonna light you up for 30, so be it.

JB if my favorite player. No he's not the best on the Celtics, but the fact that this is a legitimate question now that isn't met with instant "you're nuts" vibes.. It shows the incredible growth he's had and is a scary proposition for the NBA. Jaylen still needs to work on his vision. He makes the right read but its often a hair too late and the passes are often a hair off target. He also needs to figure out his mental on the line. You can see he's just overthinking it and not trusting his natural ability. Other than that, I feel like his "left" issues were always way overblown, much more about trying to force things that weren't there than lacking skill, but regardless that's no longert a problem. He's an elite transition player, he is an elite post player with the matchup, he's got an elite middy and he's so strong that he can just bulldoze the defenders he can't break down off the dribble. He's shown he's an elite defender of multiple positions too. Skies the limit for my guy, but he hasn't caught JT quite yet...
@jehoshualewis25258 ай бұрын
The only reason he hasn't caught JT yet is because of JT's natural talent. JT needs to perfect his fade-aways to become unstoppable
@nickgilday89468 ай бұрын
@@jehoshualewis2525 JT has more than that to work on but yes the gap has closed
@jehoshualewis25258 ай бұрын
@nickgilday8946 there is only ONE single thing he needs to work on and that's his fade-away. He knows how to play the game, play team ball, plays defense, pass the ball, draw double teams, read the defense, etc. Once he perfects his fade-away he would have a weapon to help him not fumble crunch time possessions
@jehoshualewis25258 ай бұрын
@nickgilday8946 JB has a gunner mindset. I love it, like spreewell, but you're right about him needing g to pass 3 or more dribbles before he does. As far as them two compared to each other, Jb has everything JT doesn't have, which is heart to attack the paint consistently and go-to moves, JT has passing and team play in his game, which JB needs to learn.
@nickgilday89468 ай бұрын
@@jehoshualewis2525 JT improvements are much more on mindset, situational awareness and playing with an edge in my opinion. Sure there are some skill things but to me the mental side is where he can really become a top 3
