Pete.. this is the first time I've ever commented on a KZbin video in my life, but I feel the time is right... from watching your videos it inspired me to take the leap and get into the logistics industry. I passed my tm exams, hgv, adr, etc, and I now have company all set up and rocking and rolling.. so I thank you. If I hadn't stumbled across your videos, all this would have never happened. So keep doing what you're doing because you don't realise what good you're actually doing. Hopefully, one day, our paths will cross, and I can buy you a pint to say cheers.

Would you be able to share you experience as of how and where to get started, please?

@_vladas, my journey.. Firstly, find a love for logistics.. and start researching, with myself I youtubed, youtuded, youtuded and came up with a plan. Step 1 save as much money as possible with your current employment Step 2 with money saved I used to gained my tm qualification which is not easy, if you haven't worked in the industry before (I'm an ex carsalesman for my sins) so was tough Step 3 book you hgv test with the money left over after Step 2 Step 3 after being skint after first 2 steps but with the advantage of having the 2 above, find a driving job but because you have no experience, no one will take you on and you will have to take a poop of a night trunking job and keep on saving. Step 4 save up for your Operator licence from doing poop trunking work and apply. Step 5 obtain operator licence Step 6 because your a new company no finance company will touch you Step 7 with a quick Google search there are companies out there that will rent trucks to new ventures.. secure that and your away and in business Step 8 go knocking doors till your knuckles are red raw and you will find your pot of gold Good luck and I wish you well on your journey

Probably a good idea to work for someone else for a while for a bit of security to get you back on your feet. I got offered a speed awareness course surprisingly. Booked in for January 27th 2024

I think you're missing a joke there with 'Royston Daventry' it sounds like a League of Gentlemen sketch just waiting to be written! And people often do a break in the video and jump to 'Future Pete' or 'Editor Pete' to add in an explanation before jumping back to the previous scene!

If your still feeling in the dumps then your better working for someone for a while to give your mind a good time to relax and repair with zero stress. Running a transport business is extremely stressful and has caused many of great man to collapse with the stress. Give it a couple of years and you'll soon get that motivational drive back to run your own business. Right now your motivation is probably at rock bottom as is typical with 'burnout'

wow ...... did not expect that ! petes becoming a wage slave ! Life boring in so many ways when you have less to stress over . No invoices at all , bills are someone elses problem , mine is just to do a decent job and manage to turn up on time and yet get a decent wedge . Other stresses show themselves such as ive got 3.5 weeks worth of holiday to burn through before the end of the year at which point i have to endure the potiental of needing to take 2 months off next year , all fully paid . Good luck mate .

It will be difficult for the transport industry as men can no longer mix with men due to men online hunting men talking in riddles which is creating a driver shortage add to that the current road blocks globally and driverless vehicles The transport industry has collapsed
