Max made way better use of the drive mechanics than LTG did in this fight. It's like LTG was playing SFV, but Max is playing this game. You see him constantly using Drive Impact and Drive Rush, while LTG is mostly using the meter for EX moves.

LTGs problem is that he only ever takes unsafe risks when he's in disadvantage. When he's in the red or in the corner he'll do dumb stuff like jump in cross up raw DR, but when he's in control he backs off. I don't know if he's being disrespectful or overly cautious but it costed him so many interactions in this set alone.

It's mostly because Dale likes to play more passively so he can feel safer and not be at risk of getting abused up close. It's the reason why in every game he plays, he's got at least one zoner under his belt. Smash has the Belmont's, SFV has Falke, MK11 has the zoner variant of Robocop, e.t.c.

LTG did not learn from Dinlee that one time when he went against him. Ken can punish that rushdown with that 1-2 punch as seen in 1:07. Not only that Max keeps him at bay using Hadoken is also pretty smart. LTG seems like an aggressive player here and Max is countering that aggression by playing a little passive until the time to strike. That's the different between Max and LTG. Max adapts to the playstyle and switches up if he loses and LTG sticks to his old playstyle which fails. Yet he will blame it on others instead of himself when he loses.
