What’s your biggest winter driving tip for Tesla owners? Let me know in the comments!
@msedhu118 күн бұрын
Its so stupid that you're talking about pre-conditioning battery in home or office. It's not at all needed. It's provided to reduce the time you spend in super charger provided by Tesla (L3).

I don’t live in the Midwest, but after a trip to Minneapolis, I’ve parked my Model Y outside. No need to keep it hooked to a NEMA 14-50-many outlets are substandard and can burn out. Just charge when needed; constant connection isn’t necessary.

When keeping it plugged in are you charging it to 80% every night?
@msedhu112 күн бұрын
@@alj9723 Yes. Unless you're in a long trip.

if the weather is really cold and frosty, one winter tip is to rub a good quality silicone spray on the door seals, so that the windows and doors don't freeze with the seal. this could prevent window glass from breaking.

That is a great tip. Thanks for sharing.

Regen braking can be slightly controlled by changing the hold/roll setting on the tesla. Change it to roll instead of hold for reduced regen-braking

Thank you for explaining the preconditioning. I drive a Model S Plaid. Any tips that are unique to this model?
@ShivaSapkota17 күн бұрын
Thank you so much. Nothing specific to MS Plaid, these tips apply to all Teslas.

The biggest, most successful driving tips to increase ones range significantly is to drive any Toyota Hybrid vehicle! You will instantly increase your range to at least 400 miles in virtually any weather and you will never have 'severe range anxiety syndrome' again in your lifetime! (yaaa!)....and they are super reliable, easy to maintain and fuel 'charging stations' are available in tens of thousands of places all around the US...and they always 'work' (wink)

Hey Shiva... What is the phone mount that you are using? Looks like it's a MagSafe compatible and you able to hide the cable?
@ShivaSapkota18 күн бұрын
Hi there, I am using the mount linked here. You can use SHIVATESLA as a discount code. It is magsafe but hiding the wires will not be as clean as mine since I am using a custom kit that came with a different product. My wiring is connected to the OBD. However, you can route it through behind the dash and bring it all the way to the back USB-C port. Magsafe Phone Mount: shorturl.at/yD3hS

Is RWD good for snow, most saying its fine.
@ShivaSapkota18 күн бұрын
Yeah RWD is fine. My 2018 Model 3 was RWD and it did just fine even in Colorado weather. Of course won't be as good as an AWD. You can get winter tires and it gives you so much more traction though if needed. Thank you for watching.
@Reddylion18 күн бұрын
@ShivaSapkota all weather tyres vs winter tyres, anybody entering euro etc which is mandatory and right choice for not getting stuck in case of much snow.nice vid.
@danwhite242415 күн бұрын
@@ShivaSapkotawhat tires do you use on your RWD. I’m in Colorado too. Have RWD. I don’t want to switch sets of tires and deal with storage if I can avoid. Good all season with winter rating tires?

I have 240 charger for my tesla but my coworker is changing 120 v at home and one a week he must go to supercharger . Its very cold this year in Minnesota 😂. No problems for tesla if it is charged
@taggartlittle57018 күн бұрын
Hi. I’ve had my ‘25 M3 for a month now and one question I have on preconditioning is if I have the charging scheduled to shut off at 7 AM but have preconditioning set for a 8:30 AM departure will the car still draw energy from the charger to precondition or will it only be using battery to precondition after 7 AM?
@ShivaSapkota17 күн бұрын
Based on what Tesla told me, it would still use the charger to precondition because your car is plugged in. It won't necessarily charge the car but use the AC energy to get the battery and cabin ready. Thank you.
