This band was thirty years late to the 80’s. They would have topped charts in that decade.

This song really sums up all of my feelings. I have had a lot of bad luck recently and some days i really wish i could go missing. I have a lot of doubts about my relationship. I feel very frustrated with things and right now, do i feel like i have nothing to loose. Perfect song.

I sleep with my hands across my chest And I dream of you with someone else I feed my body with things that I don't need Until I sink to the bottom Don't act like it came as a surprise Don't believe me? Then look into these eyes This can't go on so I should just Regret it, regret it, regret it And even though I led you on Forget it, forget it, forget it I'm going missing for a while I've got nothing left to lose I don't listen to anything I still remember how you moved And I taste you scent upon my lips How it started, I will never know But now I've reached my limit This can't go on so I should just Regret it, regret it, regret it And even though I led you on Forget it, forget it, forget it I'm going missing for a while I've got nothing left to lose I don't listen to anything I'm going missing for a while I've got nothing left to lose I don't listen to anything Do you ever want to wear your body out Until there's nothing left to take? The rain began to push you away Has midnight come too soon again? I'm going missing for a while I've got nothing left to lose I don't listen to anything I've got nothing in defence I've got nothing left to lose I don't listen to anything I sleep with my hands across my chest And I dream of you with someone else

The first Maximo Park song I ever heard, and, IMO, still their best. Captured my attention from the very first time I heard it. There's just something honest about the hurt in Paul's voice, and something earnest and furiously uncomfortable about the backing. Superbly written piece of music.

This band is excellent and sadly came out at the wrong time or they'd have been miles bigger. The way I played this album, RINSED. Still love this song with so much heart. xx

This song is really amazing. I just found out about these guys on the Rock Am Ring livestream just last Saturday. It almost feels like this is the song I've been searching for all my life. And then I found it, just like that. I turn on the livestream, and there it is. Weird, huh?

Possibly my favourite Maximo Park song. So many to choose from though. I have every album this band has released and I honestly don't think there is a bad song or a filler on any of the albums. Great work guys!!

Just getting into Maximo now, I was in 6th form right at the height of the guitar scene circa 2005, I always lumped them with the glut of other indie guitar bands. Which in retrospect was very stupid. These guys are literally one of the best bands I've heard to come out of Britain and streets ahead of their peers. Criminally underrated.

A brilliant band, I honestly believe they were ahead of their time at the time! Lol Still though, for those that get them, they are blessed! ;)

Very underrated for the exact reason you described, there was a bit of renaissance of guitar music around the time and they got lost in mix. I LIVED in the certain trigger album, played this song nearly every day and it made me cry nearly every day and I still well up when I hear it. A WONDERFUL band and it's nice to see they are getting new fans. Continue to enjoy your music exploration, wonderful discovering fresh music isn't it? I'm 40 and am just discovering old gems from the sixties! lol! :-) xx

It's only when you've lost everything that you're free to do anything. I'm sorry for everything that happened between us, but did you really expect me to be okay? I've tried and tried but honestly I spend every day feeling like a shadow of who I used to be, and every night I fall asleep praying that I don't wake up in the morning.
