bro what is it that everybody has this "summer romance" vibe around Maximo Park? almost like they are a summer rock n roll band when theyre from a pretty fuckin rainy place haha... almost like Simple Minds being from Glasgow were the soundtrack to California summers in the 80s. Now, lets talk about how theyre also so related to "that girl" that smelled incredible and that was gorgeous but was defo not the one. This band was the thing for me. I was a Maximo Park girl, and I still am. Couldn't listen to other popular bands associated to the scene, if ya know what I mean. I wasn't very fluorescent and I didn't have any rubies and so on.

If I remember right from some interview, Paul said that Duncan had written the lyrics to this song at first. Paul had went over it and put his own take to it but left that line in because it didn't make any sense to the song, yet it felt right. So, I'm not sure if it really suppose to mean anything.
