Yes, entertainers have to be nominated for a star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame and have a supporter pay for their star and its installation. You must have not been listening to Melba Moore or Luenell's speeches. Both acknowledged and thanked Kat Williams for his nomination and procurement of Melba Moore's star. If you feel (rightly so) that Ms. Moore should have had this honor years ago, you could have nominated her and paid for her star or mobilized black entertainersto do so.. We as black folk always say what "should have" happened, but we do not step up and do what is needed to get anything done. JS

I moved from Birmingham to Maryland in 1997-2000. It was there at a Recording studio that I met Melba Moore and her smiles briefly. In passing, she was so kind and friendly, and that was an honor because I knew of her thru her music and loved her enough to sing her songs as I did Aretha Franklin, and so many of our true era of Soul, R&B, Gospel, Blues, Jazz music.

She is just as kind, classy and sweet as I remember. My music teacher in S.E. Washington, DC invited her to Davis Elementary School. We knew that she was a huge star in the 70's. Doe, Ray, Me, Fa, Solutions, La, Ti, Doe will always have a special place in my heart because of her. God Bless.
