I had to pause at the boat hitting those waves. In New Zealand, Hubby had a boat like that and we had to race back to the Lodge from the other side of the sound due to incoming storm. To this day I still feel my gut tighten when you bounce off the waves. I was so sore due to that unexpected Ab workout. Ok back to the video...

I love this family, so much fun! My observation, when you find someone you looks at you like Rose looks at Jeff, hang on to her tightly, give her what you her heart desires, and she will follow you into the woods(maybe he followed her!) and stay with you forever. Yes, its a romantic notion, but you can't deny the love she has for him in those moments. Of course, if you need proof, those great girls are all you need to see. Again, love watching this family grow and survive!

If it was a cheap boat, you almost should have taken off the trailer and dragged it on top of the snow….almost. 🙂 There’s an awful lot of force on the hull in those condition. We broke a support in the front of the hull on our old aluminum hull. I’d take it easy if you want it to last a really long time. Great fish though!

There was a lake near the house we used to go to all the time. We could be there in less than fifteen minutes, but one time it took us nearly two hours! It was my wife and I, and five girls between eleven and fourteen years old. Three were our daughters, and also two of their friends. The lake was in an open area that used to be a pasture, but we had to go down a winding trail through some woods to get to it. It had rained recently, so one of the low spots was flooded. I tried to keep one side of our car on a bank where it was dry, but it was too steep. Just as we hit the deepest part the wheels slid down the bank. The fan splashed water onto the distributor and our car stalled. I got out into knee deep water (flooding the car) and dried out the distributor, but when I tried to start the car the starter turned just a bit and quit! I was an auto mechanic and always carried a toolbox anywhere I went. I got out the car jack and jacked up the corner closest to the starter, and removed it. Luckily the car was high enough that it was barely out of the water. When I took it apart I instantly saw the problem. Sand and mud had made it's way inside and had lodged underneath the brushes so they weren't making contact. I cleaned everything up, put the starter back together and reinstalled it on the car. I started the car while it was on the jack so the starter wouldn't pick up any more sand and mud, let the jack down, and drove slowly out of the mudhole so water wouldn't be piling up in front of the car and picked up by the fan. After about two hours, an hour or more spent with me nearly covered in water and mud, we made it to our fishing lake. After I got dried out we all had a good time fishing. When we left, we went a different way! It was around four or five miles further, but at least we didn't have to fight that mudhole again!

I used to have a riveted boat, about half the rivets leaked. I welded them all with wonder rod from harbor freight. Something to keep on the boat for temporary emergency repairs would be flex seal tape or some other water proof tape. Only rely on it to get back to the dock. You can also get nylon screws that can be used to plug a small hole.
@AL4N.
@AL4N. 2 жыл бұрын
I've never had any luck with flex seal, epoxy is the way to go for on the lake/River repairs.
@cm5838
@cm5838 2 жыл бұрын
@@AL4N. epoxy can be an issue with thermal shock, something probably not an issue in northern bc, corrosion would be my concern when getting used in salt and epoxy delaminating from the aluminum, but if the aluminum is clean and free of oils and the epoxy pushes through the hole it should seal pretty good.

I used to work for an old Merchant Marine. He taught me that in a pinch you can patch small leaks in your boat with sawdust. Just pack the sawdust into the leak and it should buy you enough time to get to where you're going. Keep a supply of sawdust onboard in a water tight container. With the patch you fashioned sawdust would have fortified the fix. When you first discovered the leak out on the lake you could have plugged the leak long enough to pump the bilge out then you could have packed the hole with sawdust and made it back to shore at your leisure. Take care. sincerely, Dean O. :-I
