Switzerland: "Lets ban curcuit racing entirely because it is way too dangerous as there was an accident in a completely different country." But Switzerland is fine with races where people go 250+ km/h in cars similar to LMPs on a narrow bumpy road inbetween woods, massive inclines and rock walls. You people sure are weird. You're exactly right. It's the equivalent to the hypothetical of the UK banning circuits and still allowing the Isle of Man TT. One of those is far more dangerous than the other.

The Isle of Man has it's own parliament and laws. The UK Government has no jurisdiction over the running of motor racing events and most of the other aspect of IoM governance. The core of your analogy just flew out the window.

Robert, the reason is that hillclimb is run one car at a time. They wanted to get rid of the possibility of multiple cars running into each other and creating more havoc, than if just one crashes. Also if one crashes you can follow the car's unpredictable crashing movement better than if 2+ cars are going to crash close to you at the same time. Or so I believe the reasoning was.

Diese Passage ist vielleicht eine der letzten Herausforderungen im modernen Motorsport. Hab mir jetzt mehrere Fahrer in dieser Kurve angesehen... Nur Faggioli und Merli nehmen diese Passage so gut wie voll. Mit Abstrichen vielleicht noch Marcel Steiner 4:26... Die anderen Fahrer gehen deutlich vom Gas. Nicht einmal mit den modifizierten Formel 3000 von Napione 1:40: und Bormolino scheint die Passage "voll" zu gehen. Hier trennt sich die Spreu definitiv vom Weizen... 5:02: Unglaublich spektakulär auch diese Passage an der Tankstelle vorbei. 5:12 - 5:18: Without words... Top Arbeit wieder. Vielen Dank fürs Hochladen.

Probably most of the track was smoother than the corner where the cameraman was. Better to have the tightest suspension possible even if you have to sacrifice speed on a couple curves
