Robert, the reason is that hillclimb is run one car at a time. They wanted to get rid of the possibility of multiple cars running into each other and creating more havoc, than if just one crashes. Also if one crashes you can follow the car's unpredictable crashing movement better than if 2+ cars are going to crash close to you at the same time. Or so I believe the reasoning was.

Probably most of the track was smoother than the corner where the cameraman was. Better to have the tightest suspension possible even if you have to sacrifice speed on a couple curves

Polo33 rally cars and drivers don't drift because it's faster, they drift because it's the quickest way to get the car pointing in a straight line. As wrc cars can pretty much out accelerate anything they use this to their advantage by drifting through a corner it means they can accelerate in a straight line quicker. However if you watch a tarmac stage they actually don't drift that often. But really, who cares? We all know they do it because it looks cool as fuck.

You have 5 specific places, at the start, at the garage near the start, under the bridge where the first clip is taken, in the forest and in the last part of the track, the S. There is 30 seconds between cars and there was around 250 cars last year, it's a big event.
