you don't need to duplicate the animation precomp layer multiple times. 1) right-click on the precomp layer 2) in the 'time' group select ' enable time remapping' 3) then use the expression 'loopout("cycle")' on the keyed 'time remap' attribute 4) then in the project window change the comp duration to however long you want, and finally, stretch the precomp layer in the timeline as per your need. And voila, you have an infinitely looping animation

@@nonchallant in this case you can put the expression 'loopout("continue")' on 'Shift Centre To' keys in offset effect. PS: there are many videos on YT that can help you better understand the working of loopout and expressions

In case anyone was struggling with adding the grid/guide lines at first, follow the instructions the top comment says, but make sure that the thing next to where you put "every grid line" is set to pixels (or what your canvas is sized in).

To stop the quality ‘crunching’ when scaling with pixels, makes sure you turn change the scaling from Bicubic to Nearest Neighbour. A tip I found from my game design days! Edit: never mind you did it lol

Great video. In Photoshop just deselect Anti Aliasing and you won't get the bleed through with the paint bucket tool.
