Thanks for having the Hard Bar on the channel! Your feedback is really appreciated. As expected, I"m getting a lot of comments like "you could have done this" or "How did you not think to add a hex hole?" (Just because I didn't include it in this version, doesn't mean I didn't think about it 😅). I wanted this 1st version to be as simple as possible so that I could use it as a canvas to create other versions people are interested in, plus when you keep adding features it begins to mess with the asthetic and I've been long tired of the 32-in-1 multitools for a long time.... Now, the bottle opener... I tested many different versions, but what I found was that the opening for the opener ends up adding so much grip as your thumb can snug RIGHT up to the edge of the blade. After using this knife for a year I couldn't bare to get rid of this feature as it makes this tiny knife so much more usable for high leverage cutting. Let me know if you have any questions. And thanks again!

That sigh after "of course a bottle opener". That's become my benchmark of product design these days: "if i add this, will it be used more than a bottle opener?"
@SanctumBrand22 күн бұрын
When I removed the bottle open I lost quite a bit of control of the knife because what I found was that my thumb would naturally sink into its hole during high leverage cuts. So imo, losing that blade control would be worse than all of the "Ahhh another bottle opener" comment. So I decided to take one for the team and deal with the comments

So EDC has morphed into Tactical Purses now.
@SarrienneАй бұрын
Where have you been? These things have been around long before I even heard the term 'EDC'... Maxpedition and Snugpak were probably the first to make mainstream ones about 15 years ago, but they've been a thing since the 1990s... and arguably earlier with some of the smaller kit on the likes of SADF '70 Patt webbing (the Patrollie Sakkie), and some of the Brit '58 Patt accessory pouches.
@Spanky8402Ай бұрын
Yeah, I remember being a kid in the 90's and I had pouches and a fanny pack for toys, tools, cards, games and for collection of rocks and shells I found on the ground. I even had them in my Semi Truck, when I was a over the road semi driver and now that I work in construction, I have always kept tools separated in pouches for different types of work. Some people use tool boxes, I use tool bags and pouches. I always have my entire life and I am 40 years old.

I like the idea of a prybar on a knife sheath! Makes me think about some options🤔

it would be cool if the sanctum hardbar you could flip the blade around and snap it into the pry-tool as a handle.

The Viperade tool with the scissors that come off 😢 a clone of the GHK12. The locking drivers on the bottom loosen up with wear and are compatible with the little square-¼ inch adaptors. The blade is also identical to the tanto from the roxon blade exchange system, so you can put any of those in it (got the strap cutter thingy in mine). Speaking of roxon ... the flex companion is now available internationally on the Ali site. It is taking all of my willpower to not write that in all caps.

That scissor connection mechanism is so lit. If sbd copied that, uf, let's say roxon and added it to flex 😉😉😉😉...omg

Prybar as a sheat seems very useful, prybar is one of my most used tool. BUT it need to have a knife not a toy, as you pointed out.
@SanctumBrand22 күн бұрын
I hear ya! I have some larger versions coming down the pike. I easily can make a scaled up version, but the sole reason the knife is this size is because it was sized to fit on the back of a cell phone case, which takes this knife's practicality to another level. Have a look at the Hard Case, which will accept this same knife.

The last MT must include t6 and t8 as well as 1/4 bits and pocket clip maybe even a diamond file, otherwise it's a no go

Great idea on the the pry bar, thing that flags me is that you can mess the edge up on the knife taking it in and out, being that it’s metal, draw back but maybe fixable not unless they thought of that and I am not seeing it, thank you for taking the time to make the vid
@SanctumBrand22 күн бұрын
To help avoid this the sharpe edge of the knife is slightly recessed, so granted that you neatly sheath the knife. the edge wont ever wear against the pry bar.
@TheSac1122Ай бұрын
I wonder if they had help from Roxon, the scissors and they way they lock reminds me a lot of them.

The prytool/knife is a neat idea. Just over and under engineered (and super expensive). The hole on the knife that sticks out should have been a 1/4” hex. The bottle opener bit should have been accessible while the blade is sheathed. Not to mention thst putting the bottle opener on the opposed side of the sharpened edge is begging for someone to slice their finger badly.
@pretentiousname01Ай бұрын
That second multi tool may be worthwhile as just folding travel scissors if they dont stuck

I already bought the VAK4 from Viperade. And i tried to remove the part with the whistle, because I dont need that. But i need a shorter Screw in that size. So i rebuild it. But in that flatter way, i like it so much more, and the toolset will be perfect for my everyday use.
@SarrienneАй бұрын
It's a nice idea, but nothing new. The OneTigris version of the Snugpak Response Pack allowed for even greater modularity and was very well built. I also don't see how this would carry the commuter stuff like large water bottles and laptops, as they state in their marketing blurb. It's probably nice if you don't already have one and/or are a Viperade fanboy, but there are already better ones out there.
@elmadicineАй бұрын
I think the look and form factor of that last viperade (lol name) has potential. hopefully they'll also make a version of that titanium prybar that overcomes its most fundamental flaw: being made of titanium 😂 like, how is it not common knowledge that brittle material makes for bad tools?
@KevinHamilton-p2nАй бұрын
If that pry tool had instead of a blade, a replaceable craft blade that I feel would actually have been the ticket.

Viperade needs hi-viz innards on their products, particularly ones that can't be splayed open to admit enough light to see what's at the bottom.

why didnt they make the prybarknife a folding knife like a svord peasant knife
@SanctumBrand22 күн бұрын
I've always preferred fixies and wanted something that was small enough to connect to my cell phone case. I then also made the titanium pry-sheath for when an extra carry option. Essentially I feel there are enough amazing folder knives out there and wanted to do something different.

And also in the sanctum the back of the bottle opener is a blade... Dont they have an minimum of common sense? Don't they think that it could be dangerous? Even I don't blame the "designer" who came up with the idea, but the person who approved it to be produced like that. I'll never back up a company/product with that level of careless thinking.
@SanctumBrand22 күн бұрын
I thought about it wayy too long to be honest. But having the indent there is also so useful for choking up on the knife with your thumb that it wasn't worth removing. Plus can't we all agree that knives are inherently dangerous already? The other option is simply removing the overhang of the bottle opener and leaving the indent.
