The EB150 AC adapter has been upgraded from 160W to 212W and has an internal fan now. But I hear you can also use the 400 watt AC adapter from the AC200 to charge it up. When i first got my EB150, I thought it had a fault because it took almost 2 days to reach a warm enough temperature to run (E005 under temp protection error). The DC 12V is now 13.5V now.

The Bluetti Owners Manual (p. 4) says, “Please fully charge the product if you are going to idle for a long period.” However, the Apex Owners Manual (p. 6) says, “Storing the Apex at half charge ensures the longest battery life.” Both are lithium batteries. Why the different recommendations? By "idle" I'm assuming Bluetti means "store," rather than leaving it turned on without a load ( as in 'idle' a car engine). My understanding is that storing a lithium battery at 100% charge is not best practice.
@minutemanprep
@minutemanprep 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Forrest, that's a great question. There are two sides to this. If you want best storage where you come back and has the most charge left then you leave it fully charged. If you want the highest battery health then you leave it at 50%. One is simply saying to have the highest charge when you need it make sure it's full. The other simply says to make sure the battery gets closer to 2,000 cycles leave it at 50%.

If you store a lithium ion battery long enough and it reaches zero capacity that also can seriously damage the battery. So both statements are true.

Thanks for the video, I really didn't want to buy the Bluetti because of their fakespot.com score on their amazon url, and how they don't have an email to contact and their only number on their website is an international number. So I went on your site and saw that the Expert Power Alpha is practically the same. I went to their website and they have an email and phone number. Talked to a worker there and Maxoak is one their distributors, i'm guessing taking their original product and slapping their label on it. Anyways, Expert Power people were really friendly and their fakespot.com score on one of their solar generators got an A, so getting the Alpha sent out to me to test it out.

I reside at an apartment. I was thinking of purchasing multiple units to have as back up in the event of a power outage (one for my chest freezer, one for the fridge, one for lights, etc). All would generate their power from my wall outlet. Could I plug my devices into the units while they are charging from my wall outlet and just leave as is 24/7, or would that not be advisable?
@minutemanprep

Yes you can do that but I think it would make more sense to just have something like the Titan poweredportablesolar.com/ that all of those devices could be connected to and it could run them with ease rather than having 3 Bluettis which would cost more in the end.

I saw on one of your videos that you increased the effectiveness of the generator by attaching a timer for your fridge. Any info would be helpful. I have also looked at the Patriot Power generator but am on a budget and not sure which would be best. I love the Titan but the cost is prohibitive.

The B150 is definitely not big enough for both a fridge and freezer even while using the outlet timer. You may be able to get away with the Bluetti EB240 if you use the outlet timer but you will for sure need six 100w solar panels as well. This is what I would recommend if you need something right away. The Titan is really what you need but if you can't afford it then I'd go with this setup: One Bluetti EB240: amzn.to/2O29Nph Six Renogy 100w Mono Rigid Panel: amzn.to/2ERd0q5 One Set 70ft 12 AWG Panel Cables: amzn.to/2Ne9ZBv One Set 2-Way Cable Branch Connectors: amzn.to/33fhxK9 Two Outlet Timers: amzn.to/2n2iWDX

Sorry 14hrs meaning there isn't strong enough sun to make power. During the winter sun up in northern USA is around 730a and sun down about 530p. That means there's only 10 hours of light where the sun is actually able to touch the solar panels. But there are only about 3 peak solar hours where the solar panels can make their maximum potential.
@TheRed6263
@TheRed6263 4 жыл бұрын
you placed solar panels in a 2x2 array which would have the VOC at around 42 to 46 volts and the ISC in the 10 to 12 amp range. I know that during real world conditions you might never get near these values but if for some reason it did would that have damaged the charge controller internal to the unit since it is limited to 10 amps?
@minutemanprep
@minutemanprep 4 жыл бұрын
Great question. Luckily no. If it gets too many amps or volts it simply causes an error code and the charge controller shuts off until reset. This takes away the worry of it charging, getting too much energy and causing a fire. It won't have any issues with fire it will just go into error mode.

The Titan is unrivaled no question there. The point is some people don't need a 3,000w inverter but just something to run a fridge and CPAP machine. Others also can't afford a Titan because it's so powerful and the Bluetti is a decent alternative. My channel and website often focuses on a particular unit but in reality I am reviewing many units for people to consider.

@minutemanprep
@minutemanprep 4 жыл бұрын
@@thesurvivalist. I still have my Kodiaks as well. The Titan can expand to infinite amount of batteries as well but in addition to that it can also expand it's solar capacity which no other unit can do. For example the Kodiak can have 4 more batteries attached to it but it's still limited to 500 watts of solar panels. The Titan can have 4 more batteries attached and can go from 1000w max input to 2000w max input. So it grows more with the expansion of batteries.

@minutemanprep
@minutemanprep 4 жыл бұрын
That may work! Doing a quick look around the lowest VOC I could find on a 240w panel is 30.67v and the amps are 7.87. When I was testing the Bluetti I once did get it just barelly over 60v and it was still working. So two of those panels would make 61.34v which may just barely be allowed to go in and the amps would be still 7.87amps.

Isn't lithium batteries charge cycles around 2,000 rather than 1,000?? Chart says otherwise??
@minutemanprep
@minutemanprep 4 жыл бұрын
Generally that is what they're rated for but that is 100% dependent on the charging voltage that is put in by the manufacturer. You can really only get 2,000 cycles out of lithium battery if it's never charged above 90% and not below 10%. So basically if a battery is 1,500wh and you can use all 1,500wh then you're using the entire capacity of the battery. But if the battery is actually 1,650wh but the charge parameters are set to where it shuts off at 10% on the low end and 90% on the high end then it will have more like 2,000 cycles. You wouldn't know that it wasn't using the entire battery because on the screen it show you 100% when in reality it would only technically be 90%. This is what is done with the Titan solar generator. It is actually over 2,200wh but it's usable capacity is 2,000wh. This keeps the battery healthy and ensure more cycles are achieved. So the Bluetti EB150 has rated it to 1,000 cycles because of how they've have set up the charge parameters within the system.

This is a very old video and even at the time was a bit odd. 2 plugs is fine, 4 is a silly thing to ask for. The reviewer does not seem to grasp what a USB -C output is. The fan blows out hot air, so WHY PUT THE BRICK THERE YOU MADMAN???? Cycles are about 2500 not 1000.
