I've taught C4D for 3 years and I can say he is a really excellent teacher. Doesn't overcomplicate things or dumb things down, but explains precisely what it is in a very engaging manner.

Amazing tutorials! Would have never have figured that for the bag. I'd always kind of think of soft body dynamics with negative pressure. This works so well! Bob is a great teacher, a great addition to the x-particles team!

The magnificent creations of my imagination are thoroughly handicapped by my ineptitude with C4D. I should've started much younger.

I just went through a bit of pain and solved it - in case it helps anyone else: If you turn the subframe steps for the cloth simulation (in the x-particles tab on project settings) when the emitter attached the particles to the cloth object on frame 1 it adds them as if the FFD deformer wasn't there. This means the cloth starts from the "thin" cube position which intersects the collider object that is supposed to be inside it. I had to create my cloth object how I wanted it then do "Current State to Object" to have my cloth geo not intersecting the collider object. Then I could turn the subframe steps up to my hearts content and the sim worked great. Hope that helps someone! Love this tutorial though - thanks Insydium crew!

I'm trying to do the same time remap use the cache tag. But it doesn't work, as the thing you did when you set 0F at F0, 90F at F90 it's like you unchanged it, I did the same thing but the result was not like unchanged it, what I got was like the sucking shape of the last couple frame slightly sucking, I did try to find out why it is like that, but no luck so far. Can anyone tell me why?

Why Maxon can't extend C4D with something similar to xparticles? 800$ for the plugin from some 'outside' company is a bit much.

i do, when i have to switch between mac and pc.
@diminishedreturn5 жыл бұрын
It's not a bad renderer. Cycles' problem is probably that there are many others that are also good and that are way more established since before. I have nothing against Windows and Nvidia but I'm on Mac myself, and I think it's borderline criminal how all the renderer companies have handed the whole market to Nvidia. Yes, CUDA was/is great when it got introduced but you could easily have the same level of performance on AMD cards today with low level APIs like Metal if they had the same support and continuous development. Let's hope the playing field levels out in the years to come-because that would benefit PC/Nvidia users equally. Just like AMD's rise in CPUs are pushing Intel's prices down.
@diminishedreturn5 жыл бұрын
Looks like good times. But it's depressing to see how Octane, Redshift, Arnold, Maxwell, Vray and Cycles are just giving the whole market to Nvidia and Windows. I have nothing against those companies per se, but it would be nice to see support coming to the new Mac Pro. And while Cycles dropped OpenCL I wonder if the Blender community might be the key to get a great render engine like Cycles ported to Metal. Looking forward to more training being added to my Maintenance area on a regular basis! Thanks!
@xrossfader5 жыл бұрын
Blame Apple for forcing the hand bro. Apple dropped GPU engine support for Metal. AMD just started developing ray trace support on its GPUs while Nvidia is 2 generations in its GPUs. They are playing catchup when it comes to supporting the 3D professional. RS, Otoy are doing their best in developing Metal support but its not their fault. Downgrade to High Sierra, install the Nvidia web drivers and you can use up to a 1080ti in an eGPU with Octane, RS, Cycles. Otherwise you're just going to have to wait or upgrade to a PC.
@diminishedreturn5 жыл бұрын
@@xrossfader I don't blame Apple. I applaud them for dropping old, legacy APIs and formats. Metal is a low level, efficient API that leverages hardware a lot better than what it replaces. As long as the renderers co-develop Metal, all is good.
