I had to get one of the leather valve guards because apparently, my flesh melts silver. I've hated the thing but I have to have it. KGU's is nicer than the other companies. Not going to lie, I started in 4th grade and used to yank back to hit the higher notes for YEARS. I straighted my own teeth that way so I didn't have to get braces. The pressure thing might have been helpful! The mouthpiece case is nice, but I just use a bunch of those little zip pouches. The leather plunger mute is tasty. That trim kit intrigues me. It might keep that cheat moment where your fingers slide sideways instead of hitting directly. Might be putting them on my Christmas list from Santa. Thanks for the video!

haven't played a horn in almost a decade now, used to have a nice yamaha, quite sad i sold it in retrospect. it's cool seeing what people come up with now back when all i knew existed was mutes. I used to play at an awful angle though, more than 45 degrees downward, might get back in now and fix that

I use a valve cover on my 54 Olds Recording just to protect the casings from the corrosive properties of hand sweat. I don't really see a change in my sound playing with or without it.

Congrats. We had a freshman that was 1st chair. He would have been 1st in 7th grade as well. He went on to play with the Marine Band in DC for 30 yrs. He had the sweetest tone. Some people just have it. The rest of us not so much.

The only that sucks about the trim kit is I have the same style where the valve caps go into the valve cap. I don’t know the different names but top full circle valve cap goes into the bottom open valve cap that doesn’t move unless you unwind it to take the valve out. The thing that sucks is they can stuck down and it’s near impossible to get them out and I have it on my Euph and I think they came with them but they’re annoying if you’re valves aren’t perfectly oiled

Try to stay relaxed while playing, don't force air through the horn, let it flow through with deep breaths. Practice makes perfect. (All cliche-ish, but it all works)
