Cool pack. I think I’d like it more if it didn’t have that middle section. Much prefer a big main section that I can organize with different pouches, packing cubes, etc. I like the addition of the straps on the bottom though along with the side molle.

I’ve been using a Maxpedition Kodiak Gearslinger for the past five years as an EDC bag. It’s been great, durable and it’s been slung through a lot of airports. Been thinking of switching out to something with two shoulder straps just for long carry comfort.

That is an issue that people bring up - I think they are going for sleek - that's their angle.

They also sell a molle bottle carrier so maybe that's what they are playing off? That they have many pouches

Yes true. Seems like people are divided on wanting a water bottle or not.

All I have is maxpedition. My EDC is the medium methusalah bag . I bought it in 2014 . and it's holding up great. I put my lunch bag in it for work. And a newspaper or magazine, plus more. They stopped making these bags for some reason. Anyway, I'll look into this pack next, maybe for a get home or bug out bag. Thanks , enjoyed the video.

I have my Riftblade for about a year. And it´s great for my everyday usage. You can even go with it on a 3 to 5 day journey if you know how to effectivly pack a backpack. Please notice, i mean a 3 - 5 Day trip in the civilisation. Not a 5 day Winter-Biwak in the wilderness of the woods of norway. For this kind of Trip i would prefer a Maxpedition Gyrfalcon. Unfortunately, there is no really large outdoor backpack from Maxpedition. With 50 -> 80 liters volume.

I’d love to see this bag in about a 35 liter size with a longer length. An AR with side folder would fit nicely in the middle section.

Don't generally post comments and hope this will get a reply from you. First, excellent vids on both the Riftblade and the Vanquest Katara 16: well done sir. I know the sizes are clearly not the same, though they are of apparently similar "formatting". Thinking in somewhat visionary terms, if you could score a Katara of similar size to the Riftblade: which might you choose? I've both a Maxpedition bag and a Vanquest bag and given my experiences with both - I'm leaning way in the direction of Vanquest in general: quality materials, build, etc...though I use both of my bags as the situation dictates. As a complete aside...wondering was that a shot going over the Bear Mountain Bridge in NY? Gorgeous area of the Lower Hudson River Valley and great hiking there.
@EverydayTacticalVids6 жыл бұрын
I like the organization of both, but the convertibility of the Katara I think is a big win. And yes, that is the BMB - I grew up in Poughkeepsie so it's not far from there. Thanks for watching and for the comments. They show you are a thoughtful person - I appreciate that.

Thanks for the quick reply, kind words and confirmation re: location. NYS is by far one of the most diverse and stunningly beautiful states of the US: watershed, terrain, diversity, etc...: please no offense to anyone living elsewhere as each state has beauty, charm and its own unique draw: just my opinion. Thanks again. I wish you and yours a lovely weekend. Blessings...

hi fellow EDC enthusiast. hope you can help me with my dilemma... i am really interested in getting an EDC covert tactical bag. i am now using a TNF surge bag for my EDC (school/gym). i am looking to getting either maxpedition riftblade or the 5.11 amp24 (tho im leaning more towards the riftblade), i like them coz of the clam shell opening (i havent tried a bag with a clam shell opening but i think they would be much easy to organize and access things in and out) and the modularity option for both bags. My gripe is that both of them have quick release buckles, and i am carrying everyday atleast 15-18 lbs of gear, books, laptop, gym stuff and i am always in daily commute, train jeepneys and buses. i am afraid that the quick release buckles might accidentaly snap off while carrying heavy gear (especially when seats are full i just sometimes hang on the jeepney and/or buses railings 😄👊💪). also i intend to use it in hiking, so again my concern is that the quick realease buckles might accidenrally snap off while hiking in steep slippery hills and tje bag with its heavy load might put me off balance and get into a mishap 🤕😂🤕. So to make the long story short, id highly apprexiate any experience, feedbacks comments or suggestion regarding on should i still consider investing (i said investing because they cost a lot), or if there are something that i can do to remedy and make sure the the buckles would sure be not to accidentally relase off. **** and also what can i do to cover the grommet holes at the bottom of the maxpedition riftblade, i dont see me having any use for it, and moisture and dirt (as ill be again using tje bag for hiking) might actually sip in the grommet hole **** thanks for reading my long post... hope you can give me a good advise as i really like the compartmentalization of these great bags (self confessed O.C. 😊😊😊) thanks again a lot mate.

@@EverydayTacticalVids hi Tim, thanks for replying to my question. im really going crazy on what to pick between riftcore and riftblade (gotta make a sure and right choice since these bags are pretty expensive 🤣🤣🤣) .. i kinda like the look of the riftcore especially the sunglasses pocket (kinda looks like oakley sunglasses pouches) but im worried that riftcore might not be to small for my EDC (office stuff, laptop, powerbanks/cables/chargers and cellphones and also i bring along everyday with me my gym clothes, towel, pair of rubbershoes weightlifting belt and toiletries.) do you think it all would fit in riftcore? or should i get the riftblade. (tho i think its poochy, and i kinda not like the look of sunglasses pocket (not the same as the riftcore) hope you can give me an advice which bag to get, since you already have both, and what are the pros and cons of one over the other. keep uploading cool stuff Tim.👌👌👌 thanks a lot.

Cool looking bag. I a bit too tactical looking for me. I do like the hook and loop panel on the front. The shoulder straps and back panel look super comfy. Did the bag have any hot spots when carrying it?

What are the dimensions of the pass through pocket in the inside main pocket. How big of a laptop can you fit in that.
@Fedaykin86 жыл бұрын
I'll tell you what; If this bag had the side pouches (they flatten down to nothing) and the interior hook & loop panels were molle cut like the Vanquest Trident and others, I would take this bag over the Vanquest I think... I prefer the molle cut hook & loop system that Vanquest uses because it's more versatile. One of them just needs to make my perfect bag already! :D
