I used to carry around a 65-pound pedalboard (14 pedals) along with a heavy amp (sometimes my Marshall JCM 2000 modified). As I got older, carrying this stuff became a burden. In the past I tried various digital mod systems and they all (to my ear) sounded sterile. When Pod Go came out I pre-ordered it and it arrived about 3 months later at release. Wow, what an improvement. It weighted only a few pounds and the sounds was great, feeling like playing with a tube amp with natural compression. After several weeks I dialed in my sound. Since the band I played in had an awesome sound system I plugged in the Pod Go direct stereo into the PA. Since then, my heavy pedalboard and amps are gathering dust. I bought a carrying case for the Pod Go, putting all the necessary cables and my wireless in the case with the Pod Go. Now I carry only about 6 pounds when playing out (except for my guitars). Lastly, I record a lot, and I no longer use any of the effect in Pro Tools options or any of my old pedals (some were 30+ years old), just the Pod Go. Life is simpler.

I recently bought the Pod Go (It's not red), and I feel that it has massive value packed into one compact box. For most guitarists (or rhythm guitarists like myself), who more or less use a linear guitar FX signal chain, the POD GO has everything you need. Great tones and usability. Great video! Thanks. 😀

Your “for example” comments, shots of the screen, and red arrows showing where one might place a pedal in one’s chain helped me tremendously. Seriously! I have been considering this product vs. an Iridium or HX Stomp, but many videos are vague and confusing. Thank you! BUT IT’S NOT RED!

Precisely my main pedalboard, which consists of a Super OD, Angry Charlie, Pink Phanter, Boss Tremolo, Boss Phaser, Mini Wah and a Synth for guitar, just failed me, and I have a gig tomorrow (May 26) so I resorted to recreating the pedals inside the pod go, just adding the pink phanter in the loop, no amp simulation and no IR just going straight to my Hot Rod Deluxe, it sounds exactly the same, good thing I have a Pod Go as well as my assorted collection of pedals, most of the time I just use the Pod Go for regular gigs, directly into front of house.

Hey, great video! I enjoyed your sense of humor and your overview of the Pod Go. I picked one up a few months ago so that I could jam with an old drummer friend of mine on his newly acquired Roland digital kit. We ran his drum kit and the Pod Go into a small Zoom mixing board that has the ability to do separate headphone mixes, and we rocked out a bit without disturbing neighbors, kids, families, and animals at our advanced ages. There's so much that the Pod Go can do that I feel I'll be discovering new things about it for many moons to come. Although it's significantly lighter and more versatile than my pedal and Super Reverb amp setup, it's not red, but I like it all the same. Thanks for your video, and rock on!

I bought a Pod Go in January to replace my Fractal Audio AxeFXIII/Mastermind GT/22 rig. I'm mainly doing fly-gigs these days so the high-end unit was too bulky and too difficult to substitute at the destination end if something happened in transit. I 'downgraded' to the Pod Go with some amount of trepidation but these fears were unwarranted. I was actually surprised by how good the unit sounds. In a perfect world I would still use my Fractal unit but the Pod Go is all I need for this current touring gig but...."it's not red". 😉

Brilliant video. I am late to the digital effects pedal game. I’ve always preferred lugging an insane amount of gear, to provide the perfect tone, to a room full of people who couldn’t tell a good guitar tone from bad. Why have I agonized over the tubes, the pedals, the $200 cables, the vintage Celestion (made in the UK of course)? They say experience comes from bad decisions and wisdom from experience. I just ordered a Pod Go based upon your video. I’m so excited to live like a singer and just show up to a gig…but it’s not red.

I gig with the Pod Go. It's the best multi fx I've had. What I wanted, apart from some usable and preferably good sounds, is you can easily use it as a stomp box on the fly with 6 FX! So, big clear screen for onstage use, easy to adjust parameters on the fly and 6 FX in stomp mode at the push of a button, what more could you ask for.....apart from the usual ins and outs and yes, its not red!

It's not red. I was told it would be red. Actually owned a Pod Go for a bit. I've gone back and forth between "I'm replacing my pedals with digital to save money" and "But I love pedals!" It's a great rig. Kept running into DSP capacity issues where it didn't have enough power to do the stupid, overdone rigs I was always trying to do with it. But for the kind of straightforward board I might use if I gigged regularly, it's a fantastic piece of gear. But I'm also in my "But I love pedals!" mode, so maybe when I swing back to digital, I'll try another one.

I use it in conjunction with my Fender Mustang GTX100 amp and between those two I have a considerably endless catalog of amps and pedals and recording options. 10 effect slots with using both footswitches (plus the wah on the PodGo) and I can record in litany of ways. It’s just…so…damn..fun. Great video Andy!

I got mine only a few months after it came out. It does take a bit of digging into to get some of the sounds you want (The "Mandurian" amps and cabs do work great for doomy stuff once you tweak them... Just like the real thing). I did find the bass mods a wee bit lacking though even when I put my DP-3X in the effects loop as a pre-amp. Other than that I think I'll be hanging on to this for my home recording hobby at the very least... even if it's not red.

Interesting! Pod Go looks like a great all in one option that does the same! .... But it's not red👀

I used to be a “tube amp” snob too until I tried the free trial for the helix plug in… and I preferred the tone from the helix than my actual amp…. So what it’s not red but who cares, color doesn’t matter, only what it can do! Right? You’ve convinced me on this product. I’ve been a fan of Line 6 modeling effects devices, I even have a Line 6 Sonic port. I’m in a serious need to upgrade and just starting out into the pedal world. I had been debating on the M series from the M5 to the M13. But, now seeing this, the POD GO seems much more versatile and it really isn’t that big. With this unit I can upload my favorite existing presets that I’ve tweaked over the years and take them anywhere. This will be my next Line 6 product for sure. You are correct! I use a Pod Go to replace my rig - in fact, I haven't used my "regular" rig for five months. In my opinion the biggest downside to the PodGO as an all in one is that its built in drive tones sound a bit digital. If you place even ONE real analog overdrive or fuzz upstream of your podGo, however, one with a better input buffer circuit than the podGo’s, one with a clean boost option, like the behringer SF300, which costs all of about $25 US, then you get not only an adjustable analog clean boost, but also two varieties of distortion/fuzz which can interact with your guitar directly. It’s a killer pedalboard combo.

I too used a POD XT Live for a long time. I recently bought a used BOSS GT-100, mainly because I wanted to be able to more easily edit and arrange patches as you can with BOSS Tone Studio. One thing I find odd in these new floor units from Line 6 (and BOSS as well) is the tiny and close-together buttons. I know they allow the unit itself to be smaller, but for me I'd be afraid that it would be too easy to hit the wrong button. Do you have thoughts about why this style of button for floor units like this has become common, and any comments after using them? But it's not red at least.

I am a newcomer to digital modelling, so please let me ask some questions! Would the POD Go sound best through a PA system? Should I go for stereo, active, passive? Could I get overdriven sounds out of the POD Go at moderate volumes? I really do not wanna be loud at home! My tube combos are deafening if overdriven, I can't use them at home. BUT IT'S NOT RED - or indeed kidney shaped ! I just bought a used POD GO and I'm in the process of trying to get in the ball park of the sounds I used on my big, heavy, out of date pedalboard. So far so good. One of the issues I have with the POD GO is the amp out. It doesn't work properly ... in fact it's rubbish. What you want to be doing is taking the signal of your carefully created tone to your guitar amp without the CAB sims on the POD GO. The only option LINE 6 give you to do this, taps the signal before the CAB sims, effectively bypassing all your lovely choruses, delays and reverb blocks and everything else that appears after the CAB sims in the chain. Useless ! The work around is to put the CAB sims last in the chain - however that renders all your lovely STEREO choruses, delays and reverb blocks and everything else that appears after the CAB sims in the chain, MONO. Not handy if you want to feed a stereo signal to the desk. Just switching off the cab sims in a parallel type chain is probably not fixable because of the DSP power in the unit but it would be really handy if LINE 6 could get that one together. Other than that, the unit sounds great.

Hm ... Helix?? ... just take the POD & go! BUT then on the other hand ... the GT-1000 compact version and a real Wah/Expression pedal ... Hm? ... more expensive, so ... Anyway ... if i needed to be gig ready, the PODgo would be a great option and it just fits well in my gig bag ... WIN!

Hi Andy, great video 👍🏼 What was that guitar soft case with the T on it? I'm assuming it's a Thomann bag 🎒 looks really useful.

Will the daw automatically see the output of the pod go if used as a usb interface? And why is it not red?
@Chaostar3162 жыл бұрын
You have to set the PG as output in the DAW setup but yes, it "sees" the PG. You have USB 1/2 for stereo wet signal and USB 3/4 for dry. Which can be recorded simultaneously.

I don’t have a rig yet just my guitar and boss katana, I was looking at building a guitar but thinking this may be better, but it’s not red.

Just bought one, and it’s pretty intimidating how many sound it can produce. I love how it sounds, but it’s not red.
