The battles on the islands at the end of World War II are often pitiful. Iwo Jima was scared because there were many people killed in battle, and in Okinawa, many islanders hid in caves, killed themselves by grenades handed to them by the Japanese army, or by U.S. fire radiation, and the island's mother and child jumped off a cliff to the rocky coast.
Thank you so much for listening and loving this music. This music is always touching my heart. It is Very important music for Japanese.

I'm from Okinawa and this is a great song that many people can think about how the war is a nonsense and sad thing.

I'm glad Max & Sujy is trying to understand the meaning of this song 😃👍 This song uses an Okinawan instrument called "Sanshin"(三線). It has three strings and uses snake skin. Rimi Natsukawa is also playing the sanshin.

Masterpiece. This song was covered also by many South-American musicians.

This song is also popular in Argentina. Because there are many Japanese immigrants in South America. And this song was covered in Argentina as well. By the way, Sujy is always cute.😍💕
My aunt was a teenage nursing student during the war. She was rushed to the rescue and lost her life. Her name is also left on the cenotaph in Okinawa. And my grandpa also fought in the war. As an adult, she wishes she had listened to more stories. The instrument she was playing is a traditional Okinawan instrument called the shamisen.

Correction: ❌It's not a shamisen, it's a ⭕️ sanshin.

i'm live in okinawa.thank you for the reaction video of Rimi Natsukawa and The Boom. The instrument used is called "Sanshin" .And when you raise your hand and look up ,you of ten dance at weddings, etc.in the sence that you can share joy and sadness with the jump called "Kachashi" which means to stir.
I'm sure others have already introduced this, but just a comment. This instrument is a 'sanshin' instrument from the Okinawa region. The body is made of snake skin. It is said to be the root of the Japanese shamisen. It was originally a variant of a Chinese instrument from long ago.
