Pensioner Coach Trip from the Village of Newbrough to Seahouses on the Northumbria Coast C1968, F952

A collection of pensioners go on a coach trip to the seaside some time in the middle 1960s. I believe they depart from the Village of Newbrough in Northumbria and go by Tyne Valle Coaches to the seaside village of Seahouses via Bamburgh Castle where they have something to eat.
It is interesting the way that pensioners almost wore a uniform in the 1960s...distinct by dress in a way not seen today.
This footage is edited down from about 20mins of colour Kodachrome...and digitised frame by frame at 2048X1536 (and processed to HD for YT).
No credits appeared within the film which I assume is amateur footage.

Very nostalgic, but it's later than '65. There's an "F" reg' Cortina at Bamburgh, 3:36, which puts it no earlier than August '67. Also, at 0:23, the bus is picking up at the Red Lion, Newbrough, not Acomb; the shop and pumps are no more. At 0:38 it's Fourstones, then 0:47, picking up just past Fourstones Paper Mill. 0:57 shows St Giles Church, Chollerton, then at 1:04, a brief glimpse of National Trust -Wallington. 1:09 looks like Rothbury coach park with its distinctive footbridge. 2:14 is St Michael's Church, Alnwick, then down towards Alnwick Castle at 2:24. Great quality and good to see places from the mid sixties I know so well. Excellent!

I love this. Seahouses is very much my second home. Always hope to spot relatives in videos like this. What a lovely day they had. To think what they had all lived through. Would love to sit down with them and hear their stories. All will be far gone. A picture into our nit so distant past. Thank you for sharing

The date for this film is July/August 1968. The large blue boat without any superstructure in the harbour at Seahouses is the "Crusader" which was built at the local boatyard in 1968 and launched into the harbour for fitting out on the 13th July 1968. The wheelhouse and deck fittings were then fitted soon after which pretty well dates this film to sometime soon after the launch date. Hope this helps! It does help...I have to be a bit quick researching when I upload footage, but I fear this time I am off by more than the ordinary margin of error.
