Me and my brother was in a discussion if Maxwell was using a hammer or a revolver. He thought it was a revolver because the back of a revolver you pull back with you thumb is called a hammer, and he also noticed how would he teleport behind the judge to beat him with a hammer, it makes much more sense if he shot it. My argument was it would be funny if it was a hammer also most people say it is a hammer

Actually, Paul laughing was for another reason , I stole this from another video: If anyone was wondering why Paul laughs, is because John thought the song was terrible, so, during the recording of the song, he just leaves the studio, and then comes back in, to moon at Paul, still during the recording. This is why Paul laughs.

I've never been a Beatles fan. There's always been some tracks that I've liked by them and some that I don't, but for the past month or two, I've been exclusively listening to them, because I thought that given their accomplishments they deserved more of my time. I basically have been listening to their entire back catalogue or as much of it that is available through KZbin whenever I'm in the car, which is about 3-4 hours per day. When I started, I would fast forward songs that I was familiar with that I knew I didn't like and over time I'm fast forwarding a lot more songs, because there are many more that I have decided I don't like. I haven't reached the point yet where I'm fast forwarding Maxwell's Silver Hammer. It's far from my favourite song by them, but it is a bit of light relief, which I guess makes no sense given the lyrical content, but that appears to be the point On the plus side, I would now consider myself a Beatles fan, at least to some extent. There are certainly many songs by them that I really like.

I feel bad when people give Maxwell's Silver Hammer a bad rep, its mostly because I kind of like this track and because it isn't that bad, it is far from being revolution 9 "bad" if I'm being honest

I totally agree with your assessment. I can only take so much of Maxwell and his tedious, but apparently happy, hammer.

ohh this song let me tell you a story, my friend was taking a shit one day and i was in our living room with my record player, i put on maxwells silver hammer and at the part where it goes “BANG BANG MAXWELLS SILVER HAMMER” i pounded on the bathroom door on beat and quite literally scared the shit out of him

Some small corrections: 1. Abbey Road was not The Beatles last album, that was Let It Be 2. The laugh by Paul is actually his response to John Lennon storming out the recording session.

I like the song but yeah it's creepy. You said after listening to it a few time it gets boring but for me the more I listen to it the more I realize it's dark and cruel especially after watching the animation someone made for it

The critique of Paul McCartney writing "granny music" was well-founded. His songs were mostly dumb, but then he did "Yesterday" and "Maybe I'm Amazed," so he gets a pass.
