"X" is one of my favorite horror films in years and I love "Pearl" as well. In 1985, I was attending college in Los Angeles and hung out in Hollywood on the weekends so I'm really looking forward to this one (on a scale of 10 out of 10 LOL!)

I’m thinking that maybe Kevin bacons character was hired by her dad who we saw a few time during X. I also think that the night stalker won’t be the killer in the movie but the media thinks it’s him.

i am so flipping excited!!!!!!!!! the trailer talks about the whole world is going to know her name and that’s been her motto since the first movie X so I wonder if there’s gonna be a cult that gets obsessed with maxine for being a “devil” or “sinful” daughter? the cult that her father might be a part of at the end of X with the cult following on the TV I wonder if those are the ones with the white robes that are shown for split second in the trailer I feel like the night stalker killer is just gonna be a distraction, but in reality there’s gonna be a crazy obsession and the cult will find maxine filming movies then they start shooting on set with real guns then for a split second you can see mia goth being on a pole with fire infront of her so they’re gonna try to “burn” the witch? idkkk but don’t trust me tho i could be wrong 😂

Oh the budget is a lot bigger, but then the first two movies were made in New Zealand out in the countryside. I think Maxine seeing Pearl at the window of the Bates house was her paranoia and trauma after what happened to her. Im guessing the parents of one of the victims of X have paid for the private detective. Apart from the obvious Giallo influence, apparently the visual style was influenced by the Francis Ford Coppola movie 'One From The Heart 'that came out in the 1980's which had a lot of neon lights. In the cast list one character is 'a parishioner' so it must have a connection to Maxine's father who was a preacher shown on the tv at Howard and Pearl's house at the end of X .

I am so hyped for this movie! Mia goth is fantastic and Ty West may go 3 for 3. To make three movies in such a short period of time that all connect and have completely different timelines and styles is so impressive.

I highly recommend watching X and Pearl. X will be more of a gritty 35mm looking slasher with a Texas chainsaw feel. Pearl is a little more of a sinister horror drama with a vibrant wizard of oz look. Both filmed at the same farm in New Zealand.
