Is Rotten Tomatoes full of sh*t when it comes to the Terminator franchise?

I would like this franchise to go back to its horror roots. I know it's controversial to say that the first one is a horror movie but it totally is. It has a darker atmosphere and some great kills. The next installment should definitely take some inspiration from that movie.

I agree. The franchise went into an action packed direction and never changed. Going back to it's horror roots would help bring life back into it.

The original in my opinion is so underrated. I know the second is great. It also has effects that were amazing for its time, but I still think the original is a masterpiece. Growing up in the 90's I remember my brother always renting the second and I would just say "Why do we always get the second?". He just felt it was so much better because of the spacing and the effects that came out in that time period between the films, but as a film I still think the original is best.

I saw "Terminator 2" in the summer of '91 when I was 6 years old in the movie theater and it was the best ever 🗣️ Terminator 2 will always be my favorite

I bet your 6 year old mind was blown watching T2 back then.

I have seen these all in theaters in their original runs. I would put 2 like 1 points above 1, mostly because of the motorcycle/semi chase. However, they are both perfect sci-movies.

Agreed, they are all timers no doubt.

The original is my fav but I'm really surprised T1 is higher than T2 when you hear how universally praised T2 is as one of the best action movies of all time. Good to see T1 get some love.

T1 has arnolds penis bouncing around in that brief scene so that's why it got the higher place 😝😆

Fun fact The crane chase in T3 Arnold paid 2 mil of his own $ to get it added to the movie cuz he wanted a crane scene.. LEGEND

Thanks for all your rankings. I agree with Rotten Tomatoes for once. I actually loved Dark Fate and Linda Hamilton/ Arnold's return. I was actually disappointed with how they handled John Conner's character and killed him off. It's definitely not in the top 2 movies of the franchise but better than that Nemesis film.

Genisys - visually appealling, an interesting concept for the plot, redone scenes from previous movies and lots of Terminators 7/10 Salvation - first half has very slow pacing, a limited colour palette, great cast, I think it pales in comparison to T3. I remember watching it in theatres at the time and thought the same, my opinion on it has never changed but that's down to me only watching it about 3 times and have no intention of watching it again despite owning it on DVD Dark Fate - watching DF feels like you've just got on a train and you don't know where it's going or if it will ever stop, one note, this is the strong female character archetype and girl power Terminator movie, T3 - A fitting end to the original trilogy and what should have been a setup to a new trilogy set in the future war, the terminator franchise is best when it's past vs future and humans vs technology, T3 is almost perfect with these themes T1 and T2 don't really need explanations i'm sure anything i can say about them you've heard a million times.

I think it’s appropriate to have the first as #1. In most cases right? I mean Alien vs Aliens? It will always be 1&2 for me the third I started losing interest honestly.

Terminator.....the franchise that has told the same story about the same people so many times lol Salvation broke the mold at least and was pretty watchable. Genysis was a dogs dinner lol
@doesntmatter673618 сағат бұрын
Got to come up with a ranking before watching, which is hard because of the movies after the first two being so shit. 2, 1, salvation, genisys, 3, dark fate

After watching I feel that the critical agenda is real with their placing of the woker movies. Both the commentator and I forgot to mention Terminator Zero animation on Netflix which would apparently slot in between the first two and everything else and is possibly part of a woke backlash.
