I had a feeling that the colour would look all wrong here. Teal Green Transparent is a bit like a dark British Racing Green or bottle green, obviously with the wood grain showing through. Anyway I am very happy to have it.

I had a Silhouette Special in purple. Was a great guitar! Unfortunately it was stolen after a gig.. Was my main guitar for years when I was studying guitar at school. Had a great comfotable neck I remember!
@PaulMcCaffreyfmac5 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry yours got stolen. I hope it never feels right to the people who stole it. Maybe you can be re-united with it or something very similar one day. The neck is beautiful. Oil finished on the back and smooth as silk...really comfortable. Thanks for dropping by and for taking the time to comment. I appreciate it

Sweet sounding guitar. (I’m absolutely convinced 95% at least is down to the player). Always enjoy listening to you play Paul. Enjoy the good weather, it’s probably not going to last that long. 😂

Thanks so much for the very kind words Gra. Always much appreciated. Good weather for me is cool with delicate, non eye-scorching sun and a light shower for 30 seconds every hour.....Hahahahaha. It's a 'miserable old git' thing I think. I'm pretty convinced that 95% of guitars sound better if you don't hit 'em as hard as you can but you know what youngsters are like these days :-D

I have owned a MM Silhouette for 10 years, Paul. A very capable and yet underrated guitar. Great playing as usual, sir.

Thanks so much. I don't think it's had much playing because the frets and finish are in very good condition for a 26 year old guitar. It's a shame that for whatever reason the real colour doesn't work in pics or videos because the green really is a treat :-)
@PlaythatGuitar5 жыл бұрын
@@PaulMcCaffreyfmac Perhaps you can adjust your camera settings and see if the green colour comes out then. In the video it's a bit blueish indeed. Good luck.

Colour correction doesn't work with stills, indeed I cannot find a photo anywhere on-line that represents the colour properly. There is nothing quite like real life I guess :-)

Greetings, Paul. I watched/listened while cooking my wife's favorite Mother's Day meal. A new six string acquisition is always a great way to welcome the lovely month of May. Gray and gloomy as it is here or not. Be well.

Thanks so much for dropping by. A new guitar is my wife/mother substitute I tell myself..... I don't really but I might if it gets to another guitar coming in..Hahahaha Happy mothers day to you and the missus :-)

@@PaulMcCaffreyfmac When I said "the lovely month of May" I thought I was referencing "Camelot". Then remembered it was "the lusty month of May". More appropriate seeing that's how the wife became a mother.

Good to see you and thanks ever so much. It is indeed the Lazy J. I would consider it a terrible waste to play through anything else while I have that beautiful amp at home. Hahahaha

Missed this posting by several days. Left down my Archtop and picked up my strat which I have neglected for some time. Went looking for your videos and boy I am glad I have found you in good form and playing tastefully. Nice video Paul. Boy you are the king of Vibrato. A "Blues for Fendermac" has started to compose itself since I picked up the Strat. Will let you know the outcome. Slan. Do Chairde Seamus.

I look forward to it with keen anticipation. I am particularly gratified and 'smugged up' that my vibrato is gettin a menton. Jimi was my model and my ideal back in the sixties and I worked long and hard on that swivelling wrist. I used to practice the swivel hanging onto the rail on the bus on the way to school. Your Strat will love you for the attention and the archtop will love you more for the absence when you go back. Always good to see you here. Thanks, as ever

I like the look and sound of the guitar (and of course you, too :-) but I did not really understand why you felt uncomfortable with the othe guitar which combined singele coils and humbuckers. Was it the sound combination or was it not so good to play? You seemed to be in a relaxed mood yesterday. BTW I recommend the 1949/50 Hollywood-movie THE BIG LIFT in memory on the "big air lift" in Berlin which had yesterday 70th anniversary. Best regards Frank
@PaulMcCaffreyfmac5 жыл бұрын
The Berlin airlift is an interesting subject and with the world as it is now I quite miss the cold war. The old guitar felt great, as this one does, but the sound difference with the hb in the bridge was too much. The actual character of the sound was completely different and it always felt wrong changing pickups with that much sound difference. The guitar is quite inspiring to play and that may be why I seem relaxed. I enjoy playing it a lot. Thanks for visiting Frank, and thanks for the kind words
