"Captain's Daughter"! That's a fun one. A lot of good stuff involving Harriman and the Enterprise-B, to try to make him a more dimensional character, after Generations introduced him as just a clown. I'll look forward to hearing your review of that one.

Great haul! Fun fact: "Weltall" is the german word for space or universe … ;-)

David Weber's Safehold series is amazing. There are loads of characters that might be hard to track, also because of similar spellings. An index of characters is included in most of the books. Really good maps. Love the plot and characters, but my eyes would glaze over sometimes at the lengthy sections describing the manufacturing of new types of guns, ships and armaments. The series is ultimately science fiction but it can feel like a fantasy because of the proscription against technology by the authoritarian religious authority. Many kingdoms and empires.

Acts of Caine is wild and should definitely be read more, Stover's just amazing at writing action sequences. It's even stronger than his Star Wars stuff, which I never thought I'd say - Traitor in the NJO series is one of my all time favorite Legends books. The Judas Blossom is really fun, it's historical fantasy set late Mongolion Empire era. I recently read an ARC of the sequel that's coming out soon and it was even better. Looking forward to what you think of those two in particular!

Alastair Reynolds is FANTASTIC. If you're only ever gonna read one book of his I highly recommend House of Suns, one of my fave sci-fi books of all time

Yes!!!!! You got Acts of Cain!!!! I was hoping you’d review it someday. Matthew Stover is one of my favorite authors. If you ever get some time btw you should re-read the Revenge of the Sith novelization. It is super good. And Luke Skywalker & the Shadows of Mindor. He also has another book duology with the books Iron Dawn and Jerich Moon which are also fun books.

If you like Grisham you may want to try Katzenbach. Hart's War and The Analyst are my favourites. Well worth a read.

I’ll have to Katzenbach to my list. I’m just under 1/3 of Grisham’s books, so when I’m done with him I’ll need another author to fill that void.
@martinj10894 ай бұрын
@@jonathankoan Cool. He's nowhere near as prolific as Grisham, but his writing is so real.

Awesome haul! How was Off Armageddon’s Reef? I own it but it’s still on the TBR.

I didn't think it was possible for there to be a font size too small.

Oh certainly, I’ve had several books that I’ve avoided because of Font Size. Especially as you get older this type of thing happened more and more.

Will you be reading Heretics of Dune?

Not for the foreseeable future. I don’t own it yet and I have a ton of other books I want to get to first.
