May is the beginning of garden season in Denver. Think of a race at the starting line and the flag finally drops to the floor. GO! That's what it's like. There's a huge rush frenzy to garden as soon as that last frost date hits. Ours was May 4th. However, it can be tricky. You still need to wait at least 2 weeks for the chance of frost to significantly reduce. 90% of our veggies this month were transplanted from our little indoor seedlings.
May is a double whammy - it is also the beginning of storm season. It's also the peak of tornado alley. While we don't get tornado's typically, there is always a chance. We do get frequent t-storms though. Those bring destructive hail and buckets of rain.
I'm super impressed with how much growth happened from transplant of asian greens to full harvest and abundance of those greens. Our peas are also finishing up and will be planted again in Fall for a 2nd harvest.
Thanks for watching!
