1. To become familiar with the study design, methodology and content of the Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging (CLSA).
2. To understand the CLSA’s potential for research in aging in Canada and how to access to data.
Biosketch of Dr. Christina Wolfson:
Dr. Christina Wolfson is Professor in the departments of Medicine, and Epidemiology, Biostatistics & Occupational Health, at McGill University. She is also an Associate Member in the Department of Mathematics & Statistics, the Department of Neurology & Neurosurgery and senior scientist in the Brain Repair and Integrative Neuroscience Program, at the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre. Trained as a statistician and an epidemiologist, her program of research concerns population neuroscience within which she examines the epidemiology of neurodegenerative disorders including, multiple sclerosis, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, epilepsy and Parkinson’s disease. She is a principal investigator on the Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging, leading the Neurological Conditions Initiative and the Veterans Health Initiative. She is the Director of the end MS National Education and Training Program and currently serves as the McGill University Research Integrity Officer.
