Im also married to a military man, Air Force, and my father in-law was in the navy. great stories from him, and I love the idea of crosstiching something to honor him, he passed on 2009. I love you First Thanksgiving and I already ordered. I am not that brave to try beads, Ill keep watching you and maybe I give it a try. Thank you!!!!! you are awesome!

You are so close on the ice angel! She is beautiful. I have never used Krenik or done beading, so I imagine it would be very hard to finish her, but wow, she is gorgeous. I'm watching all parts of your wip parade and look forward to your regular progress videos too.

That Ice Angel is really something; I had never seen her up close but she is so beautiful, but I can see how difficult she would be. I hope that you will be able to gradually finish her, but it would be understand able if you don’t. Happy stitching.....

Goodness I had no idea Mirabillias could be stitched on Aida and that’s really all I can see easily any longer but your pieces are so gorgeous❤️of course my absolute favorite is your Snow Angel! If you ever want to adopt her out I would love to try to finish her! I don’t know if I have the courage to start an entire piece but I think maybe I could finish an almost completed one then maybe start a new one! I have many health problems that have affected my eyes so stitching is hard but I love it so and I have enjoyed looking and drooling over your beautiful things so very much so thank you so so much you have made me very happy today💕

I am blown away by your beautiful stitching your work is inspiring. Please finish the ones that are close so we can see your wall behind you full of your work. Also I have a project I have said not gonna finish but I saw on floss tube just set a goal of 25 minuets a day or every other day and you would be surprised how much can be done. I remember using the krynick from years ago being a real pain I wonder if it’s better now.

I have the Quilts & Quakers chart which I ordered last year (the Valdani for), not realizing how big it was and got the individual floss, not the packaged set! This year I realized how big it was and ordered the set. I would love to do the seasons too, Autumn is my favorite! And the Valdani is nice to work with! The Celtic Autumn by L&L is probably my favorite, and I believe the border just makes her perfect❣ Theres so much detail in those you can't see from the picture! I love purples too; all my favorite flowers are purple! I grew up in middle TN and iris is my most favorite flower, but mom planted a big round footed concrete planter with pansies on the front porch each year and we had wisteria growing up in the tops of the trees. I also love magnolia and dogwood, the NC flower (for my Mom.)

Just finished watching 1-2-3 floss tubes. Your work is beautiful. Love all the lady ones. I have just gotten back into stitching last year, but have never really done big ones. Have been working on flea market flowers. My problem is I have to finish what I start so only work on one at a time. Have done several of Priscillas stitching with the housewives. Looking forward to more of yours. Take care and have a great weeké

Hi from Savannah, GA! I know this video is about a year and a half old, but I wanted to comment on it because practically every L&L you held up, well I also bought those same patterns back in the 90s, lol! Guardian Angel, Angel of Grace, etc...i was sitting here saying, i have that one, and that one and that one...i even have Santa of the Forest, and he's quite hard to get now i understand. You, however did much better than me! At least you stitched many of yours. I only stitched the Angel of Spring and let the others languish for a few years, while I got into samplers and hardanger and then, again similar to you, I stopped stitching around 2000 and left all my stuff in totes for not 10, but 20 freaking years! How did that happen? Quilting and knitting sucked me in, that's how. So now, I'm pulling out all these old charts and loving them again. I have Ice Angel all kitted up from 1995 or so, fabric, krenick, beads, the whole deal, and yours is so beautiful that's the one I want to do next! I was going to do Angel of Hope, but eh, screw her, she's waited over 25 years she can wait a few more months, right? However, I wanted to ask, since I have all that old krenick, is there a better substitute now? Your experience sounds really aggravating and I have heard others say the same thing. I found your video because I was specifically looking for people who had worked L&L pieces. Any advice is welcome!

You will be busy forever! I have so many of the Lavender and Lace charts as well! Yours are so beautiful especially Autumn Fairy and Santa of the Forest! I have to go buy the DMC for Santa! I love the idea of the zippered pillowcase, thank you for that! I have to go buy some of those floss boxes too! Where did you say you bought them from? I am so enjoying your videos! I love being enabled by so many beautiful charts and stitching! Thanks so much!

I just found your channel from another viewer mention on FaceBook. I love those ladies. You have given me hope on doing a lovely lady on aida. Loved this WIP parade as Lavender and Lace are some of my favourite patterns. I am currently working on Celtic Christmas and of course most of the design on her dress is Gold Metallic. DMC gold is the recommended thread but I am not sure if it would be better to stitch with one or two strands. Can I ask what you have used on the Celtic ones you have done? Your stitching is wonderful.

Hello Lesley, thank you so much. I stitched my Lavender and Lace angels and Celtic ladies years ago. I did not know about any other options back then so I always used the called for floss and specialty threads.

Hi Vicki, I began stitching in the 80s, but just recently discovered Floss Tube. I enjoyed seeing your Lavender and Lace pieces, since, as you might expect, I have some myself. My favorite is Nantucket Rose. I have no idea why I have never started to stitch that one. I am astonished at all of the whips people have. I have always had a large and a small project that I'm working on, never more. Now, I am lining up a "whip program" - stitching a lot of mine at the same time until my heart's content! Do you have any patterns by Butternut Road? Last year we retired and moved to Fort Mill, South Carolina. Imagine my glee when I found a needlework shop in Rock Hill, SC, fifteen minutes away. It is a stitch and frame shop. In fact, that's the name of it - Stitch and Frame. And guess what the first thing I saw when I walked in the door...Nantucket Rose, all finished and framed as a sample! I was also fortunate that I had a needlework shop near me in Northwest Indiana, House of Stitches, And, what a lucky girl I am, Hobby Lobby is right across the street in case of a last minute DMC run! Thank you for sharing and I look forward to seeing your progress!
@thevirginiastitcher3 жыл бұрын
Wow, how fortunate to have a local needlework shop so close. I used to be more of a monogamous stitcher like you until Flosstube. Now I want to stitch all the things 😆. I don’t believe I have any Butternut Road unless Blueberry and Raspberry Homecoming are ones. We sound so similar in cross stitch journey and taste. I have only but a start into Nantucket Rose. Happy stitching 😊

I had almost completed Sweet Dreams (just had finishing touches to do on the floral arch) and Guardian Angel when I lost them in a house fire. Luckily I recently purchased the pattern and fabric for Sweet Dreams off Facebook Marketplace so I will be able to redo her at some point. I also completed Angel of Grace which was framed and, thankfully, was on a wall so it wasn’t damaged. I left the wings off so she is not an angel but a beautiful lady instead. OMG, would you believe I am actually stitching on a kit I bought which was called Green Angel in the advert but has no name on the pattern or cover, and I have realised that it is the Angel of Autumn! It is on 14 count Aida in off-white or cream. What are the chances of that happening? I have even recently purchased the Angel of Autumn pattern without recognising it. I also have two others, which I think were called Pink Angel and Blue Angel so I will need to check them, too.
@thevirginiastitcher3 жыл бұрын
I am so sorry about your house fire. How terrible. 😢 I am glad you where able to find another pattern of Sweet Dreams. We seem to have similar tastes in the beautiful Lavender and Lace ladies/angels. That is odd how those pieces have been renamed. Thank you for watching my channel and happy stitching🙂
@diannebernau32933 жыл бұрын
@@thevirginiastitcher Thank you. Losing everything you cherish in a fire is devastating. I also do patchwork and had a large tub filled with finished quilt tops, the wadding and backing fabric but couldn’t afford to get them professionally quilted at the time. All the time and money that we put into our hobbies can never be recovered. I love Lavender and Lace designs - they are so feminine and from another era. I think the Blue, Green and Pink Angels was to distinguish the description of each design. I can only assume they are copies given the prices of the kits. They included everything, including the beads, but nothing is branded, which is a shame for the designer. I am looking forward to following your channel and progress on your WIPS, Vicky. For someone who has only been back stitching for a few months you have done a lot of stitching by the looks of things. I, too, only started back stitching after discovering Flosstube a few months ago. I stopped after the fire and Flosstube renewed my love of stitching. Sorry for the length of this reply but thought a bit of background sharing would help us get to know each other. Can’t wait to see your next video so happy stitching until we next catch up. With best wishes from Di 💕🇦🇺

Vickie a question do you wash your finished projects before framing?
@thevirginiastitcher2 ай бұрын
I have not had a need to wash any so far. If a piece were to be visibly soiled I would but I always make sure to wash my hands before stitching.

The Mirabilia Ladies are beautiful. I am most drawn to the Celtic Ladies, Nantucket Rose, and a few others. FYI - you said your Autumn Angel's wings are done. I believe she is missing the upper rounded part of her left wing above the angels hair. Would hate for you to frame her then realize it is missing. She is quite large and lovely. Hope to get one done in the next couple of years.
