Great, great video droneviewja without your coverage we wouldn’t have a clue how this is getting done. The two tunnels built the smaller of two what will be its purpose now that they rebuild a higher and bigger tunnel to replace it. Will it be use to channel water underneath the highway from one side to the other? The floor seems very low than the newer one. Don’t want to say it’s waste of money building both. They must have different purposes. Plus I’m trying to figure out the drainage work for that low line area. Is only a few built so far. Where would all that rain water runoff flow?

11:20 I know the area well, and I hope the drains designs are adequate for this location. The land is flat and water runs off slowly only after flooding has already occurred. Just look at that innocent looking river flowing under those bridges. It's name is Rio Minho river the longest river in Jamaica, and it takes water from streams and tributaries from north Clarendon as far as the southern border of the parish of St Ann. During the rainy seasons it's no so innocent, I've seen it crest almost in reach to the bottom of the current A2 bridge. Let's go back in history. During the May June flood rains of 1986, the river broke away the roadway that joins the bridge at the abutment on the east bound side on the approach from Mandeville. It was dark when the collapsed occurred. A truck driver stopped because the water was up on the roadway only to witness his truck fell in the raging water when the roadway gave way. A Toyota Hiace bus travelling from Mandeville was summoned to stop by the truck driver, but the mini van driver didn't yield, and his bus went down into the river with 14 souls. The river washed them from the bus downstream to their death and most of the bodies were never found. I was was on location the next day when two bodies were found way downstream in the vegetation after the water levels fell. I remember it like yesterday, even the name of the van "Blue Streak", and the drivers' name Samuel Windy. I watch the cops and undertakers brought his body and the body of a female passenger up to the roadway. Those were the only two bodies found, and all other bodies were suspected to be washed out to Rocky Point where the Rio Minho enters the sea. Pertaining to completion date: I drove by the area this morning and last week. From what I see on the work progress, this highway will not be completed till late fall of 2023. Major drainage work still taking place up Melrose Bypass, as well as light poles carrying major power lines need to be relocated for the completion of the Glenmuir entrance exit to the highway from the A2 road. There's also a massive double drain being built under the A2 roadway to upgrade for the Glenmuir road entrance exit to and from the highway Yesterday Sunday July 2nd, they installed the traffic lights that will control the traffic exiting and entering the highway from the A2 road to Erin road at the toll gate interchange. The lights were installed but not yet activated.

Thank you for yet another awesome update, DVJa. Looking at the amount of work that has been carried out since the update you did 3 weeks ago, it seems as if they are well on track for an August completion date. However, I guess we'll see if this will happen within another 2-3 weeks. Also, in your next update of this section, can you show us under the Rio Minho bridge? I want to know if work was done to halt the erosion we saw in your last video.

The erosion you are talking about is just cosmetic or superficial. There is NO damage to the Bridge foundation. Drone View JA showed a video when they were framing the footings of that bridge. The footings are Enormous and deep, they go 80 or 100 ft below that erosion that you are mentioning. Those footings were framed with tons of Rebars then covered in Hydrolic Concrete. Maybe Drone view JA can send you a link because he did a video showing the construction of the base.

They were gonna used the round a bout as the main entrance and exit. However, they opted out of that and will be merging both toll roads and use the new underpass as the main exit and entrance for both toll roads

Are the Jamaican engineers actively participating in the construction, designed of the project. I ask this question cynically, because there seems to be lots of afterthought to the design (changes). The addition of an access/exit road should not be an afterthought.

sorry to say but that poor engineering with the underpass. The underpass should have been higher seen that it is a flood prone area and the road raise over it. They can build 40 drains but if the water don't have a outlet it will still be flooded
