Maya Forstater wins three claims in employment tribunal following trans row

An employment tribunal ruled on Wednesday that Maya Forstater suffered direct discrimination when the Centre for Global Development - where she was a visiting fellow - did not renew her contract.
Forstater lost her job after tweeting that transgender women could not change their biological sex.
She brought a test case to establish that gender-critical views are protected under the Equality Act, losing that case in 2019, before she was successful in an appeal last year.
The case was sent back to the tribunal, who this week upheld two complaints of direct discrimination and one of victimisation.
Two other complaints of direct discrimination and one of victimisation were unsuccessful.

She did nothing transphobic. The crux here is that people have been deliberately trying to conflate gender and sex when they are NOT the same thing which is why they have their own protections under the law. Sex based rights are not replaced by gender identity protections, nor are they second tier rights that must be moved aside if they conflict with gender identity protections. This was never an issue before trans Self ID because trans-sexuals don't deny that sex exists. To do so would undermine, and belittle the entire purpose of their transition, wouldn't it? There is a big difference between trans-sexuals and the "transgender umbrella terminology" we see today, and people need to stop conflating them. Trans-sexuals have a valid medical condition they seek treatment for, transgenders largely are a political/spiritual belief system which is fine. It's not like personal beliefs, religions, politics etc. aren't protected under the law. That's the thing though, they're ALL protected under the law. Your rights inherently end where another person's rights begin. Transgender ideology is inherently going to bump up against sex based rights, particularly for protections for women and girls. That need not make them enemies. We just need to be able to have sane, adult conversations in good faith based in facts to be able to figure out where those lines are.
