Thanks a lot for this tutorial, very much to the point, without "wth eee where was I..." moments, and this technique (with enclosing parts of composite into gizmo) was exactly what I was looking for!

Nice tutorial, really helpful for any Vray/Nuke user, be them users of Max, Maya, softimage or Cinema, found it especially useful info regarding grouping into a single node for reuse, a real time saver without rebuilding the same node tree over and over again, keep it up, I'm trying to pull together my workflow and just what I needed ... just have to try and figure out passes from arnold in Softimage, although I'll always love Vray :)

sry but the very first thing doesnt even work for me :( its so sad. i split the .exr file into shuffle nodes as shown and then merge them. EXACTLY like you did. but it looks different. i dont know why man. is it the nuke version? i use v.8...... ANYONE?
