I know I'm too late, Zoil, but the word you want to use while shopping, is "Laminate". Laminate Plywood wood is strong shit. Chip Plywood is weak. (Also, FYI, Boston-Whaler boats are fiberglass-coated _styrofoam_ and are super reliable beeecaauuse, they can't sink!)
