One thing to tie together NYC and climate change: trains are demonstrably better for the climate and for air quality than millions of exhaust-spewing cars (one reason why many of us remain frustrated after our governor "paused" the congestion toll pricing that was supposed to go into effect here). another great way to get coffee from is asking a local roaster! alot of small business cafés/coffeeshops also roast their own coffee. typically they source their beans directly from the farmers. it is more expensive, but also heaps more ethical and helps the farmer! just make sure to ask your roastery where they source their coffee beans from so you know they're the real deal :)

I live in NYC and am glad you didn't actually die here. Btw, pigeons need to be rebranded as rock doves, their ancestral name. Also, did you see any small rodents in the subway? They are maligned as rats but I call them subway squirrels. They shouldn't be tail-shamed just because they don't have a bushy one. Asking people for directions? It may seem even more intimidating in NYC but everybody needs to know: A New Yorker will almost always be helpful and answer what they can with a smile - but in a hot minute at NYC speed. Come back and not die anytime.

The rerouting to Atlanta sucks... I was supposed to fiy to Denver, but instead of the direct flight every morning at 6, I was booked for the detour to Atlanta to the connecting flight to Denver, to eventually get to San Jose.
