Hi, Maya! Thanks for your vlog on Kansai, which is a collective term for Osaka, Nara and Kyoto. Ninenzaka, the place after you guys visited Kinkakuji Temple, is pronounced 'ni' as in 'knit', ‘nen’ as in ‘ten’ with an ‘n’ instead of a ‘t’ . The pronunciation rules for Japanese vowels are pretty much the same as those of Spanish😊 Thanks again and I hope you’ll enjoy your trip in Korea as well.

I was so close to visiting Japan at one point. I'm a Motion Capture actor and in late 2015 I was in contact with Capcom about the facial likeness role of Leon for the Resident Evil 2 Remake. I failed to mention I also have a voice acting background, in the end I lost the part and I can't forgive myself for wasting such an opportunity. I stayed at Hiyori Hotel in Osaka :) it was around $80usd per night and we did book in advance only because I wouldn’t want to chance it if a hotel is totally booked haha

Osaka is super close to Kyoto so you'll be fine either way! :) Kyoto has a lot of nature things to do while Osaka has more of the night life!

planning to go to kyoto/nara/osaka.. for 2 nights..from tokyo do you recommend staying in kyoto for 2 nights? and then do round trips for nara and osaka?

I stayed in Osaka both nights and just went out to Kyoto for the day, but you can definitely go back and forth between the cities in one day so I think it’s easier to stay in one hotel than to move! But in terms of Tokyo vs. Osaka, just depends where you plan to do more things since time is money - but Osaka is also a lot more affordable 😅

please can you tell me if zauo fishing restaurant is in Dotonbori? did you book a table or just walk in? how much did you pay for the food? on website there isn't a price list and it seems to be very busy. lunchtime is fully booked in summer holiday. thanks

It’s walking distance to dotonbori! We booked a boat table and the food depends on how much you catch. We caught 3 of the cheaper fishes and it came out to about $10 per person. :)
