This channel... as has Dominic Frisby.... has given me more laughs over the past 6 months than anything else in a long long time. Comedy is our last saviour. Don’t destroy it. Morons who compare this to various causes of death just can't do arithmetic. You compare like with like dummies! Compare a YEAR of coronavirus to the annual flu death numbers, or any other common cause of death, and you'll quickly find it makes those look like a picnic. They always say it's only killed X people "so far" showing their complete ignorance of how exponential growth works. A 2% death rate works out to more than half a million deaths in the UK alone. Sure, there's a globalist control agenda at play, but those dismissing what will be the biggest cause of death in 2020 by far really ought to be ashamed of themselves. There are only 150 deaths in the UK to date, but that will grow by a factor of ten every two weeks. That's 150,000 dead by mid may. This will rival the battle of the Somme by the time it's over, and if there's any justice in the universe, those people who just want to ignore it for the sake of the economy will be among those who are killed by it.

Always mistrusted overtly ‘political’ comedy of any stripe. Never understood this human compulsion many seem to have to put all their political eggs into a single basket. When I assess my views on each given topic I find I am ‘liberal’ in some, ‘green’ in others, ‘conservative’ in more and ‘socialist’ in a few. The rest I haven’t made my mind up yet. Blake’s dictum I always have in mind here when it comes to these things which, for me, are under constant review: *The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind.* Or even better, this from Emerson: *A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adored by little statesmen and philosophers and divines. With consistency a great soul has simply nothing to do. He may as well concern himself with his shadow on the wall. Speak what you think now in hard words, and to-morrow speak what to-morrow thinks in hard words again, though it contradict every thing you said to-day. - 'Ah, so you shall be sure to be misunderstood.' - Is it so bad, then, to be misunderstood? Pythagoras was misunderstood, and Socrates, and Jesus, and Luther, and Copernicus, and Galileo, and Newton, and every pure and wise spirit that ever took flesh. To be great is to be misunderstood.* Or this from the glorious Whitman: *Do I contradict myself?/Very well then I contradict myself/I am large, I contain multitudes.)* To bind yourself to ideas one day, and then to be doomed to defend them come what may, is not worthy of the thinking human being.😳

3 in 100 death rate. Nah. Estimated actual cases are 55,000 - deaths 155, that's 0.3% so far.
@milton77634 жыл бұрын
Which means left unchecked those no’s of cases go into the hundreds of thousands. At which point you don’t have enough beds, equipment, material, personnel to attend the people that do need help. That’s the point where you have to decide who lives and dies. Just as is already the case in Italy and Spain. So if you feel it’s an exaggerated reaction, do drop by a hospital and help a doctor pick who gets a respirator and who gets to suffocate to death Also, the 0.3% is false because you’re comparing closed cases (deaths) with open cases (55,000 currently infected). Actual rate is between 0.5% if you act quick and drastic (Wuhan, South Korea, Taiwan, Japan) and 4% if you’re slow to act (Italy, Spain, the UK) Funny video, though

We’re currently in a period when we have to endure a tiny minority who claim to represent others, but really just feel empowered by being able to control other people. I very much support Comedy Unleashed and its principles therefore, but find I do have some reservations about this content. It’s that people aren’t just dying quietly of Covid-19, they’re dying in Acute Respiratory Distress. In this condition, your lungs don’t work, but your system keeps them working anyway to try to get the oxygen it needs, and the suffering is extraordinary. So maybe there is indeed a lot of hype for the relatively few critical victims and the 3% who don’t survive it. On the other hand, the critical form of the disease is ghastly, and just maybe the non-stop news reports, and prime ministers addressing their nations, and the WHO talking about ‘war’ is at least *some* consolation to the critical victims and their families? Dunno.
