It’s worth noting that there seems to have been a delay with the dzp mk 1.2. And it’s been theorized the delay was used to fix the blasters. As the blaster was taken off of orders for a bit, depending on when walcom recoived it, it’s possible he has received a fixed version.

@@SirBrass Yeah, it's the stock. I once saw it claimed that there was flex in the shell, but what it actually is is a slight bit of play in the pin that holds the two removable halves of the shell together.

Dartzone pro is the New longstrike, not becouse of the fire mode, but becouse now there is a Ton of variations that doesn't change a lot

A factor in the different experiences could be that this model was sent by dart zone themselves. It might be a revision or special modified version. Maybe compare a store model to this to remove all bias

Most of the reviewer copies were personally sent by DZP as well, and they were still having issues. Hell, even though they weren't jamming outright, they did comment on it having priming hiccups, so theirs isn't even entirely flawless there.

I have a feeling that one of two things happened: 1. The original product that was handed out to the pro tour competitors weren't final production units, and after their complaints changes were made. Not sure if there was enough time for this to happen though. 2. A few people had issues with it and posted bad (but honest) reviews. Others jumped on the bandwagon, since Dart Zone is the new Nerf (biggest guy in town), and it's trendy to bag on the company that is at the top.

The bamboos are lighter than most other darts so they have good muzzle velocity but they don't actually fly as far.

Did you watch the video? They did range and accuracy tests and the bamboo darts flew further and were more accurate.

I've seen folks have issues with it priming slowly as well, so it's not just "trying to rapid fire it is what jams it." What seems to be the issue was a particular misalignment with the pusher and some plastic, so it caught on the plastic. Some Mk 1.2's might not have this misalignment issue, DZP might have rectified the issue since the unveiling. We're not sure.

I think we're all used to dart zone bringing out such bangers that we're starting to expect too much. This blaster is still great, I think it's a little harsh to critique it that hard.

One thing I've learned nerfing is that more often than not when a problem occurs like jamming. Vast majority of the time it's usually because of human error. I doesn't take much of a mistake to do it either. All it takes is a little bit of a short stroke while priming. I actually practice operating my blasters and have found that this normally will smooth out operating issues.

I legitimately think this is the best springer primary yet. No dzp blaster has been perfect out of the box, except for the mk 2 and 2.1. This thing is so easy to mod and its issues are so minor, it's the easiest and cheapest way to get a 200 fps+ primary. Under 200 I'd probably still point towards the nexus tho.

Sometimes when you shoot, you lift the gun before the dart leaves the barrel. In the future when testing blasters, try to hold the barrel in the same position throughout the whole shooting session. You will have greater consistency and less outliers.

I think the reason they shifted from a buffer tube to having just a stock point was because some people were actually snapping the buffer tubes off of the nexus pro and Mark ones and 1.1’s

I think the patent on the attachment point expired, or else why wouldn't they have used it on the spectrum, villanator ect too, it's only been the most recent releases that have the nerf n strike attachment point. I want one so I can throw a lightning storm stock on it

You need to sit a little farther back. At the ranges you'd ideally be using this (from rear cover in FPT, etc), the Bamboos drift much more. At least they seem to.

Brought mine to war last month, first time using it aside from a mag or two after unboxing. It double fed immediately, ruining 2 bamboo darts and leaving me without a primary for that round. Taking out the dart feeder/guide seems to help, but I can definitely agree with the critics.

Having tested the blaster at foamcon and watched it being used during FPT, I'm still iffy on this blaster. Definitely some improvements over the 1.1 and solid performance, something about it still doesn't feel right about it.

So I just got my mk1.2 from a SG distributor earlier this week, been playing with it for a couple of days now. Have to say I agree with Walcom here... Not to be mistaken, I actually had a pair of cutting pliers with me as i was unboxing, ready to snip out the blocking plastic strip as was mentioned in Blasterhub's review of the blaster. AFAIK, the strip has been fixed by Dart Zone. The strip now has a gap through which the pusher bar can easily slip through. Since this is the main cause of the jams, that's probably why the one Walcom works better than the earlier reviewers'. Nice video, appreciate you trying to prove the design flaw. nice work!

I'm personally just gluing picatinny rail on the side of my Mk 1.1/ Nexus/Stryker and adding better springs to achieve what I would want out of a blaster like this. But I'm also glad this option exists for those who want it.

I picked my up off amazon for $40 bucks (plus taxes and such). And while I have not tried any tests are meant to take it to its limit. I like it. Alot. While I agree the stock is not great. Its useable for someone like me whom has a average build and height. Though I may replace it in the future, for now its fine. Darts hit hard and fast. (I don't shot anything at anyone I'm not willing to turn on myself.) The sights work, the side rails allows my to add some tacticool stuff to it. I do enjoy the fact it can still take full darts even if most will only run the short darts. I love the colors. And it was for cheaper then the nexus pro at the time of purchase. No jams, or misfeeding. If you can still pick one up for the price. Go for it.

Thanks for this review. Quite bad that you all are paying this USD130 one year ago. My local online shop offer clearance price with brand new at USD 49.50. Yup, the foldable buttstock is horrible. but for less than USD 50 including shipping plus great packaging, > 200 fps out of box, quick front handguard release. Its no brainer that I shall snap it up before it goes out of production by DZ. Actually, this blaster looks good IMHO with the mk 18 style handguard.

I bought mine recently on Amazon, now that they are $40. It jams all the time. I’ve tried making adjustments. But I’ll need a 3d printed part to not jam. But the worker scar on Amazon fits perfectly in place of the stock barrel tip. Too perfectly. I can’t get it out.

Damn, that reference knocked me back waaay back... before most people in comments were even born. Gotta miss growing up in the early 90s where Saturdays were cartoon days, and companies knew how to target kids. Y'know, without stealing their parents credit cards to buy shit on their phone. Instead the cartoon cereal character told us we'd like it, then bribed us prize to yell and scream until our parents bought it. As for the blaster... yeah. Seen Xavier's video and just how crunchy it sounded was just off putting. Not just the priming, but the shell itself had that creaky sound. A few good ideas but they don't feel as polished as the first release. Not to mention its kind of a kick in the balls when they keep releasing "upgraded" versions one after another. Lets say the MK 1.3 is perfect and the default top tier blaster, people who bought previous release will be kinda pissed that they got to buy the same damn thing again. Its time they just moved on from the Nexus and lean in to rival or even the micro rival, since Hasbro doesn't seem care about it anymore.

I tried doing slamfire and the first two darts fired but then the bolt wouldn't come back after the 2nd dart fired. I looked in the access door and the chamber thing filled up the space. Sir lucha seemed to of really been aggressively priming it, witch did show durability and the creakiness of the blaster. But yeah if you need to fire that fast get a flywheeler. Not a pump action springer. I like this blaster but i am not a fan of the stock....now the 2.1 i have almost no faults with. That price is kind of the issue as you somewhat alluded to. At 120 dollars here’s off the top of my head a few comparable primaries that are within 50 dollars of that. Spring upgrade Nexus/Stryker, Worker Swift, Worker Dominator, a preassembled Caliburn, Worker Phoenix, FREAKING COLONEL WASP 76! Secondary’s with the 2.1 makes it even more damning, the zwq Firerat is cheaper. The Worker Nightingale is CHEAPER (sure it’s less accurate but one handed operation, 15 round capacity in a sidearm wins), heck the lepus is almost the same price. Dart zone really over priced these two compared to the market. Especially when you consider you need to go buy a worker buffer tube stock adapter to make this thing useable, an issue that it looks like might have transferred to the tomcat as well.
