The 2000’s brought us Malkin, Ovechkin, Crosby, Kane, Erik Karlsson, and Stamkos. The 2010’s brought us Mackinnon, Draisaitl, Kucherov, McDavid, Makar and Matthews. The 2020’s will bring us Bedard, Hughes, Michkov, Celebrini, McKenna, and DuPont. Despite all the comparisons, we as NHL fans should feel grateful for Generational talent over the years.

I would say that Bedard is gonna be a killer in the coming years. But to the people saying that Michkov is on a much better team, i only believe that's slightly true. I think the Flyers are a bottom 5 team with a coach who has always gotten more from less. In the long run, Bedard will win a cup after they're rebuild, while the Flyers make and miss the playoffs for the next decade. Been a Flyers fan forever. It's just how they operate

You can tell, looking at Bedard’s game there is NOTHING generational of his talent. The hype was blown up to such a point where it blinded people, and some people are still blinded by the Bedard hype. Name me ONE attribute that Bedard is top 5 in. There is not ONE. He’s going to have a great career, but not a legendary one. Bedard should’ve never had the generational label. Lafreniere didn’t have that label, when he was draft eligible, nor should Bedard. Now, here we are.

Not a very good take, yes michkov is awesome but he's playing on a better team. Bedard has managed a near ppg pace on an AHL team last year, Bedard is just the next level talent and though he's had some struggles to start off this season he's been improving, I don't think all the "Bedard overrated" takes are going to be taken seriously much longer

i feel like people forget that the Blackhawks sold everything for cents on the dollar just to get bedsy and still 3/4 of the Blackhawks barely belong in the league, and they hired a rookie coach who was nothing more than a blue line GOON to lead the team. the guy didn't even play real hockey. people forget bedard IS the Blackhawks at the moment. bedard stats will reflect that when more than half his team aren't apart of the make a wish foundation

For the people who commented that Bedard plays on an AHL level team, if Bedard was truly “generational” he wouldn’t be struggling. He should’ve never had that tag of generational placed on him.

It was an argument during the draft whether he could've been a valid 1st OA. However, as a Flyers fan, I'd take Bedard simply because of the center value. BUT, he's not nearly been given as much credit as he should so far this season. He's absolutely stellar making plays or sniping, and he makes it look easy, which is the big draw. He's a future superstar in the making and is looking like the best player we'll have had since Giroux, and hopefully, by the end of his career and development, the best player since Lindros.
