This was the first song my former husband and I danced to when it was played at a skating rink in Pittsburg, Kansas! We divorced more than 45 years ago, but are still friends, and have raised two kids, 56 and 54, together! Anything is possible with Gods care!

I couldn’t agree more. Maybe is one of my all-time favorite songs. It’s been covered all over the place and for good reason. It’s a beautiful, hauntingly romantic work. It evokes a universal feeling of love, loss and hope. God bless the Chantels!

Saw them at the Count Basie in Red Bank, NJ. Lead sounded just as great as the original Arlene Smith. Miss her but amazing replacement!

While in High School, I was a part time, Saturday, DJ on the Tower Of Power in Arlington Va, I would call the station late at night and ask who ever was working the board to play this song (long version) as it is so beautiful and dreaming of the beautiful Arlene Smith is better than any sleeping pill ever manufactured. Rest in Peace Dear Lady as you got this Irish kid through puberty, and I still love the song and you over 60 years later.

Seems there were a several bands with the same name. Which "Creations"? Keeping in sync with The Chantels, I'm guessing this one, The Creations - This is our night (1962) (doo wop/motown) kzbin.info/www/bejne/sJq9ip2mm5hqntk or was this their work? The Creations - I've Paid My Dues (1965) (Psychedelic) kzbin.info/www/bejne/jIWUnIprbNCSjNk or was this their work? The Creations - Crash (1964) (Surf) kzbin.info/www/bejne/qqLXpYevrpeisMk or was this their work? The Creations - Holding Out (1968) (Reggae) kzbin.info/www/bejne/p4umdGmhjcplhdU I could see/hear each of these songs being performed at the Don K. Reed reunion.

Not bad, but not nearly as good without Arlene Smith. The harmonies are there but Arlene’s voice is clearly missing. Arlene’s voice was directly from heaven. Without her, I don’t think it’s right to call them “The Original Chantels”. I raised my kids on Doo Wop and the Chantels’ Maybe and the Students’ So Young are perhaps the two most outstanding Doo Wop songs ever. They certainly are in our house.
