I have both and I use the translucent pressed powder one to set my makeup and then my loose powder one is a finishing powder so I do that at the very end all over my face! They are for two different things so they do two different things, translucent powder is for setting your makeup it is made to absorb oil, the finishing powder isn't made to absorb oil it's to make a beautiful airbrushed finish after you put everything on. I have a video about it if you look it up and it explains what I just said, that's how I learned about it and she shows herself doing it! I would use a beauty blender to set your makeup and then lightly brush it off with a brush and then the finishing powder I would use a big fluffy brush to do all over your face! Just some friendly advice that might work for you and I hope it helps you out.

i used to use the loose powder but i’ve been using the pressed one for a couple years now. i prefer the pressed one for setting my face. leaves a beautiful airbrushed finish and doesn’t make my face feel tight and cakey like the loose one

You should have tested it out with the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation, that's what I use it with, I use the concealer as well! 💅💋😚👝😍🍓❤🍭❤🍒😗👠😘👄💄

Maybe my pores are bigger than usual but that doesn’t help on mine. Especially if I wear the Maybelline make up underneath ugh maybe it’s because I’m older I don’t know lol. But yet I still do like Maybelline it’s become my favorite brand on all the products. I just have pores nothing I can do about them oh well lol if anybody has any advice for me I’m open to any at all ideas.

I'm older with big pores and oily skin, and what's worked best for me to date is benefits porefessional primer over my biggest pore areas. I let it dry down, apply my makeup, either liquid or powder foundation. The powder I found works best for setting is Nikkia Joy, either her pressed or loose powder. I have and used both. I press it in with a puff. Setting spray I use is urban decay all nighter.

Even though the question is old I still answer in case some people wonder too : the pressed powder is great for everyday makeup ! It's very light coverage but I love it because I have extremely oily skin and it never looks cakey on me. I love it !

Totally! I would just make sure you go a little bit more light headed with it. And maybe don’t use it underneath your eyes if you’re under eyes get dry. ❤️
