Holly cow... Without a little knowledge from a book or video it would be hard to figure out how to do this. I would never think to put layer after layer like paint. In my mind the top coat is the color. Very cool. I'm considering trying out pottery as a hobby. This really makes me want to.

It looks like a little heart in the middle. Outstanding glaze combination.

Amazing! Where can I buy “Detailer tops.” Such a good video!

You'll have to check with your closest Mayco distributor. Here is the item you will be looking for though www.maycocolors.com/product/ac-224-plastic-detailer-caps/

Does this also work if you use elements and pottery cascades instead of the stoneware glazes and the flux?
@MaycoColors2 жыл бұрын
Defnitely worth a test, but depending on which glazes you use it will not be as mobile.

I have never seen this actually done. What is the purpose of Flux? I am fairly new to more complex glazing trchniques. Such beautiful work, thank you for sharing.
@MaycoColors2 жыл бұрын
Hi! Flux is used to create more movement with mid-fire/high-fire glazes!

We have this video reviewing Flux if you would like a better undestanding of it's performance. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oGKzfqZsqtF8adE

oyster over green opal outside made purple? what other glaze besides oyster do you think would work?
@MaycoColors2 жыл бұрын
It sure did! Oyster brings a surprising amount of purple into combinations. Maybe Lavender Mist, but the green would probably showcase itself more in that instance.

Hi, I'm currently taking a ceramics class and would really like to try this glaze combination but our kilns are only fired to cone 10. Would it still be possible to fire these glazes?
@MaycoColors2 жыл бұрын
You can certainly do this at cone 10, but the results may look different.
@ernestorosas15522 жыл бұрын
@@MaycoColors Great! Do you have an idea on how different they would look?
@MaycoColors2 жыл бұрын
@@ernestorosas1552 we have not done testing with this combination at cone 10, but definitely encourage you to do so! There can be A LOT of variation with these results even if you are also firing to cone 6 so do some testing and play around with it.

I’m a Big Dipper can I still trail the stroke and coat and dip in one of my own glazes?
