Fishing is one of my favorite ways to get out and also share the outdoors. It helps keep people busy who are used to having a phone or some other device occupying their brain. It was slow this day but when we switched to the troll it got hot. Most of what we caught happened in about 70 minutes. I could hardly keep up. Dustin

My brother lives in Morton, so we fish " Ike " a ton, and from the boat ramp to the bridge is some of the BEST trolling. We practice catch& release, but have had many 50 - 60 fish days in a couple of hours. You say that trolling does half of the work. That might be true, B U T . . . NOTHING feels better than holding a fishing rod when the trout / kokanee S L A M S you!!! Nice video.

It is pretty good. I use it for trout and salmon but think it would go will with just about anything you want to smoke. It is also forgiving if measurements are not exact.

Thank you Paul, it did turn out really nice. We had some morning clouds that had me a bit concerned but the sun came out and at times the water was glassy. Even better when fish are coming in the boat. Thanks for watching and taking time to comment. D

It all starts at the driveway. You hit on great safety points. Good fishing tips and end result was smoking the fish, Not freezer fish. lol

Trout smoke up so well. I think it has to do with the thickness of the meat and penetration. Smoked salmon are great too, but the trout always turn out amazing. I have worked my way through boats from float tube to what I have now and learned some lessons the hard way. Hopefully I save someone's tailgate with the ball hitch tip. D

@@attentiondeficitoutdoors9134 Yeah the boat tips could have helped the guy down the road. He went by my place in his motorhome skidding his boat behind with the safety chains. I jumped in my truck to see if I could stop him. I honked and flashed my headlight. for 3 miles, I tried to stop him. The boat came off on a downward slope and hit the railroad bridge. 911 was confused when I said a boat just hit the R/R bridge no where near a body of water. The cops stopped the guy 10 miles later and asked him about his boat.

@@badbadbob1 Oh my gosh! It happens that easy. That is a crazy story and I could totally see it happening. Mine was on a speed bump a block from my house. I bought the boat used and the hitch lock was a bit rusted away. Popped up and off at 10 mph. So glad that did not happen like what you saw. Crazy.

THANK YOU FOR POSTING A NEW VIDEO ! ((I've got my volume all the way up and can barely hear you.)) If you'll attach a floating ski-rope looped to two carabiners (one on each end) of a length as long as your boat, and secure one to the nose loop of your boat and to the back of your trailer, when you back your trailer into the water, a quick STOP will launch your boat. Then GENTLY pull forward and your boat will gently come up to the boat ramp. Even if you have another person there,...there won't be any slip-ups where your boat floats away. Just remember NOT to take the trailer on and park it! It can screw up your hull !!! That smoked fish does look good! Makes my mouth water ! (Here's a good tip...if you fish water that has a lot of overhanging branches, consider fly-fishing.)

Excellent examples of several techniques on Mayfield. Mayfield is a great lake for a quick trip as on most days you can get a few fish or more, (especially in the fall of the year). Warm fall days spent with pleasant company catching fish on a beautiful lake always beats trying to boil, fry, or smoke golf balls any day.
